Check Out Luis Jairala’s Story

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Luis Jairala again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Luis, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Luis Jairala. I am the Music Network Manager at Olympusat. I manage 4 music channels (Ultra Fiesta, Ultra Banda, Free TV Hits and Free TV Banda) that air in the United States, Puerto Rico and Latin America.
I do content acquisition for these networks working with major and independent music labels to acquire their artists music videos. I am on top of music releases every week to make sure my networks have the latest and most relevant content on air.

I am also the TV Host and Producer for Ultra Fiesta creating original segments featuring interviews with top latin artists, actors, celebrities and covering major entertainment events and award shows such as Latin Grammys.

Before I became a network manager I was full time TV host, reporter and producer. Always covered the music and entertainment industry.
I have been told that what sets my work apart from others is that my interviews are fun and original. I went viral with Ben Affleck after making him speak spanish and letting the world know his favorite spanish word is “sacapuntas”.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Everything is going well. My networks have gotten more distribution in Latin American countries. Stats we’ve gotten show they are performing very well.
I am currently focused on networking and getting more contacts within the Regional Mexican Music industry.
Looking forward to continue developing fun segments featuring household names, but also always open to give a platform to the up and coming artists.

Alright, so let’s do something a bit more fast-paced and lighthearted. We call this our lightning round and we’ll ask you a few quick questions.:

  • Favorite Movie: Mean Girls, Cruel Intentions, 10 Things I Hate About You, Clueless and Coyote Ugly.
  • Favorite Book: The Four Agreements
  • Favorite TV Show: f.r.i.e.n.d.s.
  • Favorite Band or Artist: Britney Spears
  • Sweet or Savory: Sweet
  • Mountains or Beach: Beach
  • As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up: I always knew I wanted to be in the TV industry. My mom always tells everyone I asked for a microphone when I was 3 years old and I will pretend to interview my toys.
  • Favorite Cartoon growing up: Hey Arnold.
  • Favorite Childhood movie: Jurassic Park
  • Favorite Breakfast Food: Pancakes

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
I grew up a fan boy (still am). I was that teenager that had posters all over his room, will read magazines, watch MTV all day, record music videos on VHS and buy so many cds. I always think of what will my younger self will want to know about an artist or actor and I target to all the fans of the person I am interviewing. I want to give them information they don’t know or see their favorite person bring out personality and fun answers. It sounds corny, but I remember growing up how happy it made me watching my favorite artists interviews. No matter how my day went, whenever I will drown in consuming entertainment I was so happy and it could turn my day around. I hope everyone feels happy when they watch the content I produce with celebrities and the TV Music Networks I manage.
