Check Out Lester Peltier’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lester Peltier

Hi Lester , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began as an international soccer player, traveling the world and representing my country. Along the way, I faced unexpected challenges, including personal betrayals and a battle to reclaim my freedom. These experiences shaped me into who I am today—resilient and determined to create positive change. Now, through my nonprofit organization, Futuro Fútbol Miami, and creative projects like writing, I aim to inspire others and shine a light on important issues. Every step of the journey has brought me closer to fulfilling my purpose.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been several struggles, both personally and professionally. On the soccer side, I’ve faced challenges like navigating visas and dealing with situations that kept me from playing in certain places. On a personal level, my experiences with manipulation, coercion, and the toll of complex relationships have been significant hurdles. I had to learn resilience and the importance of finding my voice in tough situations. It’s been a journey of ups and downs, but each struggle has contributed to my growth and understanding

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Lester Stefan Peltier (born September 13, 1988) is a Trinidadian international footballer who has played as a forward and winger throughout his career. Originally from Carenage, Trinidad and Tobago, Lester attended St. Anthony’s College, where he played for his school’s football team in the striker position. His early football career was marked by trials with some prestigious clubs, including Club Brugge, Arsenal, Millwall, and Cardiff City. His skills caught the attention of English Premier League club Portsmouth, who offered him a four-year contract in 2007 after a successful trial. Unfortunately, the deal fell through due to a work permit issue.

In April 2011, Lester signed with AS Trenčín in Slovakia, where he made his debut on April 10, 2011. After a year with Trenčín, he moved to Slovan Bratislava in June 2012 on a four-year contract. His time at Slovan was successful, winning the Slovak Super Liga twice (2012–13, 2013–14) and the Slovak Cup (2012–13). He became one of the most notable foreign players in Slovakia during his time there.

Lester’s career then saw him take on new challenges in various countries. In February 2016, he signed with Irtysh Pavlodar in the Kazakhstan Premier League, but soon after, due to family circumstances, he and the club mutually agreed to cancel his contract. He went on to play for several other teams, including Příbram in the Czech Republic, Maasmechelen in Belgium, Alashkert and Banants in Armenia, and Al-Mujazzal and Al-Orobah in Saudi Arabia.

One of the significant moments of his career came in 2014 when he had the opportunity to play against Lionel Messi in a friendly match, an experience that stands out as a career highlight.

Despite these successes, Lester’s journey hasn’t always been smooth. His career faced obstacles, from visa issues to family circumstances that led him to leave clubs unexpectedly. But through every setback, he demonstrated resilience and perseverance, which has helped shape his transition into life after football.

Now, having retired from professional play, Lester is focused on giving back to the community. He uses his experiences to advocate for others through his nonprofit, hoping to inspire and support individuals who face similar struggles. His journey from an aspiring international footballer to an advocate for change is a testament to the power of transformation and the lessons that come from overcoming

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very focused and driven. Football was my main passion from a young age, but I had a lot of curiosity outside of the sport, too. I loved exploring different interests, whether it was in school, learning new things, or just figuring out how the world worked. I was determined, ambitious, and always had big dreams, but at the same time, I was down to earth and really valued my family and close relationships. I was very disciplined, especially when it came to football, but I also had a sense of adventure, and I was always open to new experiences and meeting people from different backgrounds. My personality was a blend of being both introspective and social—I’d spend time thinking deeply about my goals and the future, but I also loved connecting with people, whether it was teammates or friends. It was that mix of ambition and connection that really shaped me into who I am today.
