Today we’d like to introduce you to Ksusha Korn
Hi Ksusha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
**How I Became a Photographer**
I’ve loved photography since childhood. Back in school, I would often organize spontaneous photo shoots with my friends — we’d go outside with a small camera, come up with looks, and I’d try to capture the perfect moments. At that time, I never thought photography would become my calling; it was just a hobby, a fun way to express myself.
After school, I chose a more “practical” path and enrolled in university to study economics. For a few years, I immersed myself in numbers, analysis, and finance, but over time, I felt a strong pull toward something more creative. Economics seemed too dry, and I realized I wanted to create, experiment, and work with people.
One day, I picked up a camera again, and it felt like reconnecting with an old friend. That’s when I realized how much I had missed it. Gradually, photography took over my attention. I decided to develop my skills seriously and invested in several courses from top photographers around the world. These courses opened new horizons for me — I learned the intricacies of working with light, how to spot beauty in details, and how to confidently manage shoots.
And that’s how my career as a photographer began. Every new project not only brought joy but also invaluable experience. Photography became my way of expressing myself and a constant source of inspiration, transforming from a hobby into a profession I never imagined I’d pursue.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
**What Was Challenging at the Start of My Photography Career**
The beginning of my journey in photography was exciting but not without challenges. One of the hardest tasks was building a portfolio. I needed to showcase my skills and style, but at first, I didn’t have enough projects to create a solid collection of work. I had to organize shoots with friends and collaborate with aspiring models and stylists to produce content that reflected my potential. It required a lot of time and effort, and the results didn’t always turn out the way I envisioned.
Another challenge was finding my first clients. Gaining trust early in your career isn’t easy when you don’t have an established name or extensive experience. I actively promoted myself on social media, participated in collaborations, and took on unpaid projects to build connections and demonstrate my capabilities. I also had to learn how to negotiate, manage client relationships, and understand the business side of photography.
These initial steps required persistence and patience. But looking back, I realize that these difficulties made me stronger and provided valuable experience that continues to help me at every stage of my career.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
**My Achievements as a Photographer**
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible people and well-known brands. I’ve photographed celebrities and popular bloggers, gaining valuable experience collaborating with bright and creative personalities.
One of the highlights of my career was working with *Harper’s Bazaar*. This opportunity elevated my work to a new level, teaching me how to perform under high expectations and meet international standards.
I am also proud to have collaborated with the prestigious watch brand Hublot. This experience required meticulous attention to detail and an understanding of luxury aesthetics.
Another major milestone was participating in New York Fashion Week. It gave me the chance to immerse myself in the world of high fashion and work in a fast-paced environment where every second counts.
These achievements have been not only professional successes but also a source of inspiration for my ongoing development.
How do you think about luck?
I like to say that those who dream and take action are the ones who get lucky.
