Today we’d like to introduce you to Kemvr
Hi KEMVR, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is KEMVR, pronounced Kem•are, and im a south Florida native. I’m a broward baby to be specific. I started making music around 12 years old with some friends for fun and eventually I kind of fell in love with it. Around 17 I decided to pursue music seriously and got to learning more about the business and acquiring skills that help me create quality music. With all that being said a crucial part of my story is my faith. I am also a Christian. I gave my life to Christ when I was also 12 funny enough and those friends I started to do music with attend the same church. My faith shapes the way I see life and in term shapes the way I do business. My goal is to bring out the calling on peoples lives because I feel everyone has one and they should try to do it at the highest level. I want to see people win and that brings me more fulfillment than anything.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been pretty rough. I enjoy what I have learned along the way though. I really didn’t have an expert on pursuing music or business in my early life, so it really was a shot in the dark. Finding my footing was difficult because it was just tons of trial and error, but eventually I started t get around a community of people who have seen some success and I was able to take their experiences mixed with a little youtube university and make things happen.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So I am a musical artist, songwriter, vocal producer, and engineer. I’m mostly know for my music and having that over the top futuristic and cinematic type of hip hop, but I also dabble in a bit of that trapsoul type of r&b. Thing that I have been most proud of so far is people reaching out to me and telling me that my music has impacted them in a positive way. Someone once told me that they were in a dark place where they wanted to harm themselves, but a song of mine encouraged them to try again and to keep going. That means so much more to me than any award ever could. I think what makes me unique is my love for world building and making people feel like my music is an experience rather than a come and go record. Also, my faith gives me a lot of differing perspectives from the typical takes you here online.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone who wants to get into any type of entrepreneurial field is that you need to understand your “why” before you start anything. It’s easy to see other people have a successful business or career doing what you love and get overwhelmed or discouraged when you may not see the same progress at the same rate that they had. You have to know why you want to do what you do because things will go wrong. You will fail a lot and that will be very rage inducing. You will get to the point where you believe that this vision you had isn’t worth pursuing, but if you have a solid “why” that changes everything. Knowing what the foundation of why you do what you do will most time keep you pushing through any hardship until you get to your goal. Most people work 9 to 5 jobs and don’t love them, in fact sometimes they hate them, but they push through everyday because they know they have things to take care, people they love, and responsibilities to uphold. Whatever the reason you need to find your “why” or you wont last very long on this journey.
