Check Out Jonathan Rowson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Rowson.

Hi Jonathan Rowson, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our friendship started in a way that most people would agree only happens in movies or TV. We met when the world was still recovering from the effects of covid-19, but it was finally time where the college we both previously attended (Miami Dade College) decided that they were going to open up their doors to any student who felt comfortable attending while the other students could safely stay at home via zoom if they chose. As if it was it was the will of a higher power both of us made the decision that we were tired of being stuck at home and wanted an in classroom setting to get better at our craft and as luck would have it the two of us were the only students to show up at all to the intro drawing class of Eduardo Burgos a inspirational friend and mentor that would that would change how we viewed our profession and our lives entirely. The two of us as first-time college students hit it off instantly and we were inseparable because we instantly found so much respect for each other along with many mutual interests/goals, and thanks to Professor Burgos the two of us were able to learn how to maintain a healthy balance between being friends and striving together for our dreams. The next coming months’ fate would constantly remind us of the new friendship we had formed and would even go as far as making us randomly bump into each other at Disney’s Hollywood studios without knowing that the other would be there. These new healthy behaviors soon turned into habits, so the two of us would stop by Eduardo Burgos’s class to soak up all the knowledge we could. We didn’t always know that our friendship would blossom into something like this but we showed up to class to get better and because of our drive and showing up every day an idea formed between the two of us and Professor Burgos. We brainstormed our dreams with our professor and realized that the two of us would be an unstoppable force if we teamed up, so because of us finding a spark in the shadows years before during the pandemic Trinity Studios was born.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We would love to say that we’ve had nothing but smooth sailing since starting this studio, but the truth is that has not been the case. As artists and entrepreneurs, we’ve had to learn the many different aspects of creating/promoting our own studio along with Juggling our remaining classes as college students and working at whatever jobs we could get our hands on to fund our dreams. Most recently that has proven to be difficult at times because for the past two years we had the amazing opportunity to be art teachers where we worked together everyday but sadly budget cuts were made and the school could no longer afford to keep us on staff with the remaining employees. However, we do not see this as a loss because as soon as we were let go it sparked a fire in us like never before and we have been able to start many projects that will soon be on our website and social media platforms and our studio is still priority number one!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are Trinity Studios! We Specialize in 2d animation and focus on telling stories that we are passionate about. We are open to commissions of course, but as a studio our main objectives are to tell stories that leave an impact on our viewers emotionally while showcasing to the world how healthy friendships and bonds can change society’s point of view and how you can always turn a bad situation on its head. We are Storytellers in the body of animators, and we want to educate and be of service with our craft as much as we want to entertain.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up the two of us though not knowing each other while being young were the types of kids that had a hard time focusing in class. We grew up constantly getting in trouble with our teachers because the we weren’t interested in what was being taught and we never felt challenged by the curriculum but both of us knew from very young that we were drawn to thing like Cartoons, anime , movies and music. Both of us grew up being fascinated by building worlds for kids like us to escape to when they are forced to grow up due to circumstances that are out of control. We were out of place because we stumbled on to something we felt like we had no business being a part of so we took our gifts for granted and even deciding to go to study this as our lifetime career was a big step for us because it was a leap of fate and neither of us knew if we had what it takes. Hindsight is always 20/20 but looking back on it now the two of us wouldn’t change a single action or any of the unfortunate things that have happened to us over the course of our lives because we’d choose to become friends and create trinity studios every single day we wake up.
