Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermere Bush-Williams.

Jermere Bush-Williams

Hi Jermere, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I first started making beats when I was in the seventh grade And I was playing travel basketball at the same time. As time went on, travel basketball slowly started to slow down for me and I started to make beats again on my phone, fast-forward To the beginning of 2021 I got introduced to a school called conservatory recording of arts and science that’s only in the state of Arizona. I attended to conservatory of recording arts and science ( CRAS ) For engineering. This was something new for me because I never sat down behind the desk and recorded anybody, All I was used to was just making it beat and letting people who rap or sing, use them. I attended college before, but regular college wasn’t really doing nothing for me but attending this school was bad because I was doing something that I love to do which is music. This school was a nine month program which gave you the credits of a four year college. After I finish my nine months, I had an additional three months of internship where I went back home to New York City, and I was working with platinum records out of Manhattan. Working with the top engineers out of New York, it was different because everything was fast pace, always had to have mic checks ready for whenever somebody had booked the studio, running errands Because the studio was basically open 24 seven. Seeing the artist that came through the front door was life changing also to me because I would’ve never thought I would even see them face-to-face, or be able to be in the same building as them just because of the brand that they built them self and what they had to overcome to become the person they are. It was even a child working under the owner of the studio ( Jerry Duplessis ) and also meeting some of the ( Fugees ) at the same time working with ( Wyclef Jean ) when he was there working on his projects. after working at platinum Studios for three months, it changed my life because not too many people get the opportunity to work with legends specially at the age I was which was ( 22 ). I was able to Do my internship at platinum studio because my uncle ( Beast ) Was in the movie, shottas they all was well connected with Jerry and Wyclef, So when I met them, I was basically family to them in their eyes, which I see them as family too. my dad was bodyguard for Busta Rhymes for a while until he passed in the year 08, I feel like if he was still here today I would’ve had better guidance on how to connect with people in the industry and how to get my music out to people in a better way. Fast forward to 2024. I started making music for fun. I have a couple On platform and I’m basically just doing it for fun I’ll be so another album called ( Himself ) There’s no Meaning behind the album, it’s just something I do when I have nothing else to do and maybe some people can relate to music or just like how I sound. A little more about me from New York, Raised in Brooklyn for a couple years before I left and moved to Jersey and then after Jersey, I moved to Maryland and the rest of My school career out there. I’ve been playing a drum since I was three and I taught myself how to play the keyboard at 11, I love basketball and I love cars. At the end of the day, I just want my music to be heard and be able to help people when they need help. I’m a nonchalant, laid-back type of person, I don’t really say much unless it’s something I want to say, I’m a Gemini and I’m just me at the end of the day. My only wish is for my music to be heard worldwide whether I’m rapping, singing, or producing a beat

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I was young, I struggled when I lost my father in 08 and I also struggled during my time at Conservatory recording of arts and science, Due to me, not really liking school and just learning something new that was Complicated until I got it down pack. The only other thing I struggle with as now is getting people to buy and use my beats therefore, I could get placements on albums or singles. Therefore, people would know the masterpiece of the and everything was recorded.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I see I specialize in putting certain sounds together that people wouldn’t put to use under a beat, because the way I make music I usually listen by ear And try to make the same sound, but in a different way.

What I am most proud of is just becoming the person I am now and knowing that I can be better than yesterday

What sets me apart from others is, I just feel like I’ve never been the type of person to be all hyped up to get somebody to pick me because I would rather Somebody pick me because they know what I can bring to the table and What I’m capable of doing whether is music, conversation, needing help, needing somebody just to talk to, Just a helping hand at the end of the day because if you can’t be used in a good way then you’re pointless.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The advice I would give people thats just starting With whatever they doing is always believe me in your self first because even your friends or family might doubt it just a little bit but if you know that you can do it, then at the end of the day you’re gonna be fine and you’ll see that you achieved the goals that you put in front of you.

I don’t think it’s much I wish I knew before starting out because I always had a wonderful loving mother who told me that I can do it, and it always pushed me to my limit to achieve anything that I wanted to do because I knew that what ever I did She will stand right behind me and be proud.
