Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennie Alfonso.
Hi Jennie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey in healthcare over 17 years ago, working as a medical assistant with a deep passion for patient care. Over time, I grew into leadership roles, becoming a trusted support system for physicians and patients alike, while also expanding into clinical research as a coordinator. Through years of hands-on experience in both traditional and research settings, I developed a strong foundation in care, precision, and service.
At the same time, I pursued my creative passion by launching my beauty business, where I’ve had the privilege of helping women feel confident and empowered. My journey hasn’t been without challenges—balancing motherhood, supporting my husband through serious health battles, and managing multiple responsibilities—but those seasons strengthened my faith and resilience. Today, I’m combining my professional experience, creativity, and calling into ministry as I study theology and work toward opening a Christ-centered community café. My mission is to create spaces that uplift, serve, and bring hope to others through both care and faith.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped who I am today.
Balancing multiple roles has been one of the biggest struggles—being a mother of three, a wife, a healthcare professional, a business owner, and a student all at once. There were seasons where I worked long hours, sometimes even multiple jobs, while still showing up for my family and responsibilities. One of the most difficult parts of my journey has been supporting my husband through ongoing health challenges, including dialysis and major surgery, while trying to remain strong for my children.
There were moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, and financial pressure, where giving up would have been easier. But those seasons built my resilience and deepened my faith. Instead of breaking me, they strengthened my character, taught me discipline, and reminded me to trust God even when the path wasn’t clear.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As an artist and creative, I specialize in enhancing natural beauty through professional hair, makeup, and permanent makeup services. Through my business, I’ve had the opportunity to work with brides, clients for special events, and women who simply want to feel confident in their everyday lives. My approach is very intentional—I focus on bringing out each person’s unique features rather than masking them, creating looks that are both elegant and authentic.
What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has beyond the surface. It’s not just about beauty—it’s about helping women see themselves differently, restoring confidence, and creating moments where they feel truly seen and valued. I’ve also expanded into teaching self-makeup classes, where I empower women with skills and knowledge they can carry with them.
What sets me apart is the heart behind what I do. I combine creativity with purpose, creating a space where women feel comfortable, uplifted, and encouraged. My work is rooted in service, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to pour into others, which makes every experience personal and meaningful.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several meaningful ways people can work with me, collaborate, or show support:
* Book my services: Whether it’s for weddings, special events, or personal sessions, clients can work with me directly through my beauty services for hair, makeup, and permanent makeup.
* Join my classes: I offer self-makeup classes designed to teach and empower women with practical skills and confidence they can use every day.
* Collaborate creatively: I’m always open to partnering with photographers, creatives, brands, and other entrepreneurs on projects that align with beauty, empowerment, and purpose.
* Support my vision: As I continue building toward a Christ-centered community café and ministry space, support can come through sharing my journey, connecting me with resources, or simply being part of the community I’m creating.
* Encourage and engage: Following, sharing, and engaging with my work helps expand the reach and impact, allowing me to continue serving and uplifting others.
At the heart of it all, collaboration for me is about building genuine connections and creating something meaningful that impacts others in a positive way
