

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jean Rengifo.
Hi Jean, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey in the hospitality industry began in Miami, where I had the opportunity to work with some of the city’s top restaurants such as Zuma and Komodo. Through these experiences, I developed a passion for the industry and quickly moved on to private events. As an event manager, I noticed a gap in the marketplace – the lack of technology and resources to bring the best restaurant staff to work in events.
With this realization, I decided to launch Bookstaff, a marketplace that connects restaurant staff with event planners, private chefs, and catering companies all in one convenient app. The idea behind Bookstaff is to bridge the gap between the restaurant and event industries and provide a platform for talented restaurant staff to expand their skills and work in a variety of settings.
Through hard work and dedication, we have been able to build a platform that has revolutionized the way event planners, catering companies, and private chefs find and hire event staff. We are constantly working to improve and expand our services to better serve our customers and help them achieve their goals. Today, we are expanding our customer base with the aim to be their one shop place for all things event.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. When we first started, we were simply connecting friends with local events without any technology. As we realized the potential of our idea, we focused on launching our MVP to the market. This was one of the toughest parts as it involved designing an experience that would enhance the overall experience of working in events. We faced challenges in developing a user-friendly platform and also in finding the right talent to work in events.
Additionally, navigating the competitive market and getting our name out there was also a struggle. But we persevered and continued to improve and connect with more people every day. Despite these challenges, we are proud of what we have accomplished so far and look forward to continuing to grow and innovate in the future.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After six years of working in the hospitality industry, I decided to break into the tech industry as a product designer. I now have over eight years of experience working as a product designer for companies such as Amadeus IT, the leading IT company in the world for the travel industry, and Collins Aerospace. Thanks to my experience in tech, I was able to draft and bridge the gap between restaurants, events, and technology, creating Bookstaff.
At Bookstaff, we specialize in connecting restaurant staff with event planners, private chefs, and catering companies through our platform. We are known for our innovative approach to the industry and for providing a seamless experience for both our staff and clients.
I am most proud of the impact that Bookstaff has had on the hospitality industry. We have helped restaurant staff expand their skills and work in a variety of settings, while also making it easier for event planners and private chefs to find and hire the best staff.
What sets us apart from others is our unique approach to the industry. We are the only platform that connects all aspects of the hospitality industry in one place, providing a one-stop-shop for event planners and private chefs. Additionally, our use of technology allows us to streamline the process and provide a more efficient and effective service.
What’s next?
As we move forward, our main focus at Bookstaff is to continue expanding our network with event planners, chefs, and catering companies. We are constantly working to increase our pool of talent and ensure that we are providing a unique and seamless experience for both our staff and clients. We are also focusing on preparing for the upcoming high season of 2023, making sure that we are fully equipped to handle the increased demand and continue to provide exceptional service.
In addition to these efforts, we are also exploring new opportunities and partnerships that will allow us to further innovate and grow our business. We are always looking for ways to improve and evolve, and we are excited about the possibilities that the future holds for Bookstaff.
