Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jaqueline Montero.
Hi Jaqueline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Traveling has always been a passion of mine. It started when I was young, traveling to my mom’s home country of Cuba. As I got older, I began to do my travels. I started with cruising, then using a travel agency until I realized I could plan my own trips for myself and those who asked me.
For years, I have planned all of my trips and created my itineraries and tours by day. I started my travel page because so many people have asked me how I travel so much or for ideas of where to go next. This is a one-stop page for all things travel content and a sprinkle of some humor!
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
My page allows you to see different places to visit and the honest truths about certain places. It’s hard to listen to the media or word of mouth when you don’t go and see it for yourself. One of my hurdles is time. I work full-time, so being able to travel the way I truly desire is almost impossible.
I wouldn’t say it has been a difficult road, but there are times when I do feel burned out with work, travel, and running a travel page/business. Sometimes, I do have to take a few steps back to get that motivation to continue sharing content for all to enjoy and truly get the best version of myself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been to 30 countries and counting. I started with a goal of reaching 40 countries by the age of 40. My page specializes in showing unique places to visit, things to do, and how to travel for cheap or nearly free by leveraging credit card points.
To date, I have been able to go on over four trips completely free simply by using credit card points. I’ve helped others do the same with their cards as well. I am passionate about showing others that traveling isn’t only about money when you can earn trips by simply paying your normal expenses.
What matters most to you?
Being able to show my son the world. To give him the things I couldn’t. To show him various cultures and ways of life outside of what he sees daily.
I had to wait until I was well into adulthood to begin traveling overseas, and I was fortunate enough to have traveled to several countries with him. I want him to be able to tell and show his kids when he’s older the same experiences he was afforded.
