Today we’d like to introduce you to Gustavo Brunser.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my career after earning a degree in Industrial Design from the Instituto Profesional de Santiago, Chile, in 1992. I joined Apple in a technical support role for Aldus Corporation design products and was quickly advanced to Product Manager, building early experience at the intersection of technology, design, and go-to-market execution.
In 1996, I joined Adobe Systems as Regional Manager for Chile and Argentina, based in Santiago, where I established Adobe’s regional office and helped expand the company’s presence in the Southern Cone.
In 1999, following Adobe’s global consolidation of regional offices, I relocated to Miami as Latin America Business Development Manager, supporting the company’s broader regional growth strategy.
From 2000 to 2012, I held a series of leadership roles within Adobe Latin America’s sales organization, initially driving growth for Adobe’s creative solutions and later expanding enterprise adoption of document workflow solutions across the region.
In 2013, as Adobe advanced a key strategic shift, I moved into the Professional Video organization as Strategic Development Manager, leading initiatives to strengthen Adobe’s position in the regional broadcast market.
In 2020, I was appointed Director of Strategic Development for Latin America, with responsibility for advancing Adobe’s professional video business, accelerating regional market opportunities, and more recently supporting Adobe’s AI-driven initiatives.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. I’ve had a couple of challenging situations, especially with a manager who didn’t understand the company’s culture and focus, which made it extremely difficult to work and feel excited. This person almost made me leave the company. You know what they say: “People leave managers, not companies”
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
These days, my work involves working with customers who want to implement Video production workflows. Part of this involves displacing the competition in these accounts. It also involves understanding the customer’s current workflow and third-party solutions to offer better solutions. I have become a trusted adviser to my customers and maintain very close relationships built on trust and knowledge. I think what most customers appreciate is my direct approach and dedication.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Of course not all can be work. Family comes first. I also have some hobbies like singing, playing guitar in a rock band, and running marathons. You have to try to have a balanced life, family, and hobbies are a big part of it. I also like shooting videos of these activities and adding them to my YouTube channel.
