Today we’d like to introduce you to Graziela Buerger.
Hi Graziela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in southern Brazil, a small neighborhood called Vila Itoupava in the city of Blumenau, SC I have a degree in Economics, with continuing education in International Business.
I moved to Atlanta, GA in 2007 for a student program to improve my English and learn more about American culture.
My plans were to learn the language and do a Masters in Business.
After a few years, my plans change. Under the influence of my brother-in-law, who was in chiropractic school at the time, he told me to become a massage therapist, and maybe we could work together in the future.
I fell in love with the second school I visited… an amazing holistic school. I enrolled and started studying. After four months, the school had to close. My friends and I had to look for another school and after a few weeks, we were studying again.
I graduated with student honors after one year.
I was in Atlanta, GA when the desire to be close to my family grew and on Feb 1, 2017 I moved to Miami, FL with a portfolio of 0 clients but a big passion in my heart.
The following month I went to Brazil to specialize in the Brazilian style of lymphatic massage, called the Renata Franca’s Method.
At first, I was working three days a week at a small chiropractic clinic in Hollywood giving massages to people involved in car accidents, and on the other days, they allowed me to use their facility to see my own clients.
I grew so much that I had to give up that work and open my own business.
I now have my practice within my sister and brother-in-law’s chiropractor and integrative center in Hallandale Beach and I work mobile in many parts of South Florida.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I had no problems. My clients started referring me to their friends and so on. I had help from a blogger friend from Miami named Erika de Sá Bento (Miami Experience), she gives tips on what to do in Miami and has always supported me. My brother-in-law is a chiropractor, and he also helped me by referring his clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a licensed massage therapist. I studied in Atlanta, Georgia and I’m licensed by the state of Florida. I do Swedish massage, deep tissue, sports massage, but I’m mainly required for body and facial lymphatic drainage.
At the beginning of my massage therapist career, I worked for the Brazilian Olympic Beach Volleyball team when they were in Florida for tournaments.
After that, I specialized myself in Manual Lymphatic Drainage. I took the course here in Florida to get certified and then I went to Brazil to learn the famous Brazilian massage technique, the Renata Franca’s Method.
I have clients that come from all over the world to try this technique. Where you can see results in the first session.
I work with celebrities like Isabela Grutman, Anitta, Bruna Marquezine, Giovanna Ewbank, Jade Picon, Dafne Evangelista, Marcos Mion, Carolina Dieckman, Kimberly dos Ramos, Rodrigo Branco, Mariana Abbott and other celebrities that I can’t mention because of NDI.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My biggest supporter was my family. My mother and father always told me to give the best of me, regardless of the profession that I chose.
Here in Miami my sister and brother-in-law Dr. Bruno da Rocha were essential.
And I have great admiration for my teacher, who taught me this incredible massage technique Renata Franca.
