Today we’d like to introduce you to Elodie Messika
Hi ELODIE, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Frenchy and mother of three girls, a big dreamer and a Happy Spray Tan Artist! I always have tried to realize my dreams even if the solutions to reach them were to choose difficulties and I always evolved in an artistic and festive environment. In order to master a rigorous side, I studied Management and Finance in Business School in Paris where I obtained a Master’s degree in Financial Management and a Master’s degree in Management and Luxury Marketing.
I always have kept this passion for art through singing and photography. I participated especially in shows and I performed in theaters and clubs in Paris, then I sang with bands for events like weddings. I participated on the French TV show Star Academy (kind of The Voice), I play guitar, compose and write my own songs. Specializing in the world of business, I was a financial advisor and IT consultant for International banks and insurances.
The last few years have been very painful because of my mother’s illness and death. We have faced the difficulties that unfortunately many live. It taught me a lot about myself and about happiness, well being, love for others. I finally realized a big challenge : to come and live in the US !! the path is long and difficult but I work hard every day to lead this mission!
Then I owned a Tanning center business during 6 years and I developed my mobile Spraytan services around Sunny Isles Beach and area.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Such a total change of life! Change of language, school for my children, culture, hurricane seasons! We had to adapt for everything. I am very positive and I think this is only a state of mind: if you think things are hard to achieve then they will be!
Every day is a challenge. Being positive is giving the possibility of easier work!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
JolieTan Star is born thanks to my work with models, photographers, pageants, bodybuilders and celebrities ! I have learned the best techniques of spray tan and I work in collaboration with the best suppliers of Spray lotions. My clients are women and men who want to glow and above all to feel good in their body! People feel thinner, healthier, more beautiful and especially ready for their wedding, their cruise, their photo shoot, their competition, their date … I also keep myself aware of new products in the market. I’m always looking for the best for my clients!
I participated to events like the World competition of Salsa, or Miss Universe, Miami Swim Week and I was happy to meet a lot of celebrities (Netflix Actors, The Real Housewives of Miami, famous singers and models…)
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
If you don’t take any risk, you can’t move forward. Better to take risk and fall to learn than to stay stuck without any improvement! The simple fact to leave France and all my life there to come with my 3 kids and create a business in Miami was one of the biggest risk I have taken. We can’t always foresee all the risks but trying to anticipate them is always better, so that they are not too hard to manage.
