Check Out Elizabeth Belizaire’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Belizaire

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for beauty came at the tender age of 9, I began styling and doing the maintenance for my own hair. I had full blown wash days where I would braid it up into big braids to let it air dry and followed with the styling the next day. In middle school I began trying my skills on my fellow classmates, by high school I was a full-on braider. Unfortunately, at the time I had no knowledge of business and didn’t think enough of my love for hair to consider it as a profession, I treated it more so as a hobby, something I was good at and could get me quick cash. It wasn’t until after my college plan, when my life plans of becoming a nurse took a turn for the worst. I had to make the decision to make my plan B work for me. I first attained my braiding license in 2017 and began my entrepreneurship journey. I followed that up with going to cosmetology school and graduating the top of my class in 2019. I’m so blessed to have seen 5 years in this wonderful profession. I have pivoted my passion to specialize in healthy hair care and weaving installs. I am also diligently working on breaking into the bridal industry. The number of thriving avenues is endless, and I am excited for my journey!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has NOT been a smooth road! Being an entrepreneur is hard hard work, especially when there wasn’t an exact blueprint of how it would go and at first, I didn’t know who I could go to for help and advice. Some of the struggles I had along the way was learning how to balance and establish structure for myself that worked. When I first started working for myself, I would work endlessly out of fear. It took some time for my schedule to stabilize. I had to learn how to make time for myself, how to stand up for myself as far as my policies and learned how to set boundaries. I had to learn to stick to the services that I most took pride in providing verses doing services just to get paid or that was a quick trend. I had to learn who my corner of people was and how I could best serve them,

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a licensed Cosmetologist, I specialize in making custom wigs, healthy hair care services and weaving services such as Sew Ins and Tape Ins. I am known for my tailored wig making and my versitile traditional sew in. I am most proud of my tailored wigs. Wigs are so versitile and the options that are available are endless. What sets me apart from others is I care to form a relationship with my clients. I want to get to know how my services can fit into their lives, a truly tailored experience. I want to work alongside my ladies to help them achieve their hair goals, it’s not just about achieving a beautiful style but helping them alongside their healthy hair journey.

How do you think about happiness?
Connection makes me happy. I love fellowship! Genuine fellowship makes my heart swell. I love being around friends with good food just enjoying each other’s company. I have always been drawn to people.
