Hi Dragana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started when I was discovered by a photographer at a wedding in my hometown. He encouraged me to pursue modeling, and shortly after, I signed with a modeling agency and began building my portfolio professionally. That led me to compete in Miss Serbia, which opened many doors and gave me valuable experience in the fashion and beauty industry.
One of the defining moments in my journey was winning Miss Universe Serbia. That opportunity opened new doors and gave me the confidence to pursue bigger dreams. I later went on to compete internationally in the USA and Ecuador, and that is when my career truly began to grow and my success started to take shape.
As a mother, designer, and entrepreneur, I feel successful when I can inspire others, provide for my family, and build a legacy through my work. Success is having the freedom to pursue your passion, overcoming challenges along the way, and knowing that your hard work has made a difference
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road. I grew up without a father, and my mother worked very hard to support my brother and me. Watching her dedication and strength taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and never giving up on my dreams.
Like many people starting out, I faced challenges, rejections, and moments of uncertainty throughout my modeling career. However, those experiences motivated me even more. Instead of seeing obstacles as setbacks, I viewed them as opportunities to grow stronger and prove to myself that anything is possible with determination and consistency.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a fashion designer, entrepreneur, and founder of my own swimwear and resort wear brand. I specialize in creating unique, artistic pieces that combine fashion with original artwork.
What sets my brand apart is that I own and create the prints used in my collections. Each print begins as an original design or painting that I personally create before it is transformed into fabric and ultimately into a garment. Because of this process, every piece carries a distinctive artistic identity and cannot be found anywhere else.
I am most proud of building a brand that reflects my creativity and vision while remaining authentic to who I am. I have been able to combine my experience in modeling, fashion, and design to create collections that celebrate confidence, femininity, and individuality. Seeing women wear my designs and feel beautiful and empowered is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as being able to do what you love while making a positive impact on others. For me, success is not only about achievements or recognition—it’s about staying true to your vision, continuing to grow, and creating something meaningful.
