Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Ciccia.
Danny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey! My name is Danny Ciccia, I’m based out of Orlando, FL, and I am a stunt performer for TV/film as well as live stage shows. I grew up in Lakeland, FL, after moving from Buffalo, NY, when I was less than a year old. After attending arts schools when I was younger I decided to attend the University of South Florida St Petersburg for a science degree in Geospatial Analysis where I earned my bachelors. However, COVID put a stop to any future plans so I ended up moving to Orlando for work and wound up selling Mickey pretzels, ice creams, and popcorn at Disney. On a whim I decided to audition for a relatively new Jason Bourne stunt show in Universal Studios called the Bourne Stuntacular. I then decided my life was meant for stunt performing. I continued to train into multiple roles over the next few years including the Triwizard Spirit Rally, Pirate Dinner Adventure, various Disney Characters, Untrainable, Mega Movie Parade, Popeye, etc. where I’ve picked up many skills such as Wall Trampoline, Fireburns, Motorcycle riding, beatboxing, BMX, High Falls, Jiu jitsu, and others that I plan to add to my repertoire. Recently, I’ve been lucky enough to dive into some film work as well for projects such as The Punisher, Southern Bastards, Will Trent, Remain, Tony, Comeback King and more to come!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
COVID really put a halt to my future plans but ultimately led me to try new skills and learn how to push myself. Without this natural reset, I don’t know if I would’ve taken that first step to audition.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have a huge array of skills including Tricking, mini trampoline, wall trampoline, stunt fighting, stunt wrecks, high falls, firearm training, fire burns, staff spinning, parkour, sword fighting, videography, editing, and beatboxing. I’m most proud of my film work where I stunt double actors. It is the most fun of all.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
The collective memory of playing outside with friends and neighbors. I still feel as if I’m playing make pretend. But now I get paid for it.
