Today we’d like to introduce you to Daine Steele.
Hi Daine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started doing music at the age of 12. I always knew that I wanted to do something involving art, however, drawing was never much of a strength for me so I naturally leaned towards the audio and visual side of art. I have been featured on hundreds of blogs throughout my career as well worked with some very big names in music. I own a record label called “DreamMaker Productions”, which is a collective of musicians and producers of all ages. I gained a bit of notoriety back in the “Soundcloud Era”, which was very pivotal in my progress as an artist. Being from a small town in Northwest Indiana there wasn’t much opportunity or spotlight for musicians to grow, so going digital really helped. After attaining a bit of attention on the Soundcloud platform I transitioned to most digital streaming services you know and love today. Luckily, when I first started releasing music on the DSP’s I was one of the first artists to do so when access wasn’t as abundant as it is today. Fast forward to 2020 and I’m working directly with instagram as a content creator through their “BreakThrough Bonus”. This led to me becoming verified across my Facebook and Instagram platforms. The verification brought attention and since then I have always used my platform to encourage up and coming artists and entrepreneurs to follow their dreams, because anything is attainable!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some struggles along the way was being in a area where nobody really encourages one another within the community. I spent most of my younger days in Gary Indiana, about 5 minutes away from the Michael Jackson family house. And if you didn’t know, Gary was once the murder capital of the world, attesting to the crime and danger that may be present in the environment.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a 32 year old music producer and artist. I rap & sing as well as create most of all my own music myself. I specialize in R&B, similar to the sound of what you may hear from the likes of Drake, Bryson tiller, etc
I am most proud of my work ethic and accomplishments from the span of 2015 to now. What sets me apart from others is my identity and sound. It took me a while to develop my own sound and that’s something that a lot of artists may struggle with.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Bad luck and good luck are both one in the same. They both teach you valuable life lessons.
