Check Out Christopher HIRSCH’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher HIRSCH.

Hi Christopher, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My wife and I decided to take on the challenge of business ownership because we were craving something more human and meaningful in our professional lives. We wanted to be closer to people, to build real relationships, and to be part of a community rather than just working within it. Customer service and day-to-day interactions have always been something we genuinely enjoy, and we felt that owning a local business would allow us to live that every day.

When the opportunity came to take over Sunshine State Dry Cleaners, it felt like the right fit. We saw incredible potential in an existing neighborhood store with a loyal customer base. Our goal from day one was to honor that foundation while bringing our own values into the business: care, consistency, and a personal touch.

Since taking over, we’ve focused on elevating the customer experience, listening, and making sure every client feels known and valued. Sunshine State Dry Cleaners has become more than just a workplace for us; it’s a place where we connect with people, support our community, and grow alongside it. Looking back, choosing this path was about more than running a business; it was about building something human, local, and lasting.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Our biggest challenge was learning the dry cleaning industry from the inside out, especially understanding the mechanics and technical aspects of the machines. There was a steep learning curve, but by staying hands-on, asking questions, and committing to learning every part of the operation, we were able to overcome those challenges and grow more confident as owners.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Sunshine State Dry Cleaners, we specialize in high-quality dry cleaning with a strong focus on care, consistency, and customer service. We’re known for treating every garment as if it were our own and for building genuine relationships with our customers. What we’re most proud of is being a trusted part of the community, people don’t just drop off clothes, they stop to chat. That personal connection, combined with our hands-on approach and attention to detail, is what truly sets us apart.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What we love about Tamarac?
The parks, the friendly neighbors, and how everything we need is just a short drive away.

What we like least?
The summer heat that makes you feel like a roasted marshmallow, and the fact that you really need a car to go anywhere. But honestly, we wouldn’t trade our little corner of South Florida for anything!
