Check Out Carla Bissi’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Bissi.

Hi Carla , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My background is in event planning, sales and personal training. This combination has made me be able to run my small business because all of these require organizational, people and time management skills. I’ve always loved dogs and figured out a few years ago that I enjoyed organizing dog events and decided to legally open my LLC. It’s been a journey full of adventure and challenges and we’ve met great people along the way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been mostly a smooth road, however there are always challenges and hiccups that present themselves. The hardest part is finding locations to host events. Another challenge is trying to stay current and offer new services or keeping up with trends. There’s also been an uptick in dog meetup groups hosting events etc, so this has made the market saturated and more difficult to navigate. Because we live in South Florida, there are always tons of events going on, so that also becomes a challenge to try and avoid planning something that falls on the same day as something else. But, at the end of the day, the people who find value in what I offer and my services are the ones who matter most.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My journey hasn’t been the standard “climb the ladder” path. I graduated during a recession and that kick started the strange road that’s brought me here. I’ve held a variety of different positions and titles. I’ve met incredible people along the way, planned amazing events and learned valuable lessons that I implement today. I did two body building competitions, which taught me so much about my mental strength and resilience and have had the opportunity to travel and experience life in a way others my age have not. My career path has been crazy and because I don’t “fit in a box” it’s forced me to be creative and thrive in the unknown.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Resilience. Being able to continuously get back up after falling and overcoming the challenges that have been put in my way.
