Today we’d like to introduce you to Argelia Viveros.
Hi Argelia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Argelia Viveros, and while my background is in education, my purpose has always been to help people reach their fullest potential. I’m the founder of Sundays Run Club DFB, Sculpt Her, and co-founder of Mujeres Poderosas South Florida—three community-based programs rooted in empowerment, culture, and connection. Whether I’m helping a child through tutoring or guiding a woman through her fitness journey, my mission is the same: to help others believe in themselves and realize how capable they truly are.
My journey began in education. During the pandemic, I ran a learning hub where working moms could safely drop off their children while I helped them stay on track with their studies through Zoom. Later, I led after-school programs and summer camps, and those experiences taught me how much encouragement and structure can transform confidence. I realized that adults, just like kids, sometimes need a little push—and that realization led me into the world of fitness and wellness.
I wasn’t an athlete growing up—in fact, I used to avoid running completely. But with the guidance of my husband, a strength and conditioning coach at Always Ready Fitness, I started training and eventually completed my first half marathon. Along the way, I noticed something missing in traditional running spaces: a sense of belonging for those who move at their own pace. That’s how Sundays Run Club DFB was born—a space where everyone, regardless of speed or background, can walk, jog, or run together. It’s not about pace; it’s about people. Our community thrives on connection, encouragement, and the joy of moving side by side.
Mujeres Poderosas South Florida came to life in a similar way. I ran the idea by my friend Joelle Drese, and I knew I wanted her to join this journey with me. Together, we wanted to create a space specifically for Latina women—somewhere we could gather for yoga, Pilates, dance, or a great workout while listening to the Spanish music we grew up with. I wanted it to feel authentic and culturally rooted—something that truly felt like home for the Hispanic community. Mujeres Poderosas is more than a fitness group; it’s a safe and uplifting environment where women feel comfortable, seen, and heard. That’s always the goal.
Sculpt Her grew from that same passion. It’s a women-only strength class designed to help women learn how to build strength without the intimidation of heavy weights or unfamiliar gym settings. It’s especially for women who are new to fitness and want to learn, grow, and challenge themselves in a supportive space. Under Always Ready Fitness, this class empowers women to move their bodies to the music they love—from banda and reggaetón to cumbias—while discovering their inner and physical strength.
Across all my programs, one thing I truly believe in is supporting our local community. Whenever we host events, I always reach out to small businesses—especially women-owned and beginner entrepreneurs—to invite them to be part of what we’re building. The goal is always to uplift one another. I believe that when someone in your community grows, you grow too.
Building spaces like these for the Hispanic community in South Florida brings me immense joy. There’s such a large Hispanic population here, yet few places that celebrate our culture through movement and wellness. I wanted to change that—to create inclusive, empowering spaces that make people feel proud of who they are and inspired to become the best version of themselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has definitely not been easy, but it’s 100% worth it — and I’d do it all over again. Every time Sundays Run Club hosts an event, especially for kids or families, I’m reminded why I started. We come together to celebrate each other’s wins — whether it’s someone walking their first mile, completing their first 5K, or crossing the finish line of their very first half marathon. This year alone, we’ve seen new half marathon finishers accomplish goals they once thought were impossible, and in December, we’ll be closing out the year with even more first-time 5K finishers.
Behind the scenes, every event takes a lot of work and heart. There have been times when only a handful of people showed up, but we always give it our all — as if thirty people were there — because even if just one person shows up, that’s still one life we’re helping move forward. That’s a win in itself.
Getting sponsors hasn’t always been easy either. Many events are funded out of our own pocket, and there have been plenty of unanswered emails along the way. But what keeps us going is our community’s support and transparency. People show up, contribute, and help make things happen together — and that’s what makes it special. I’m incredibly grateful for every business that says yes, every person who volunteers, and everyone who believes in what we’re doing.
It’s not always a smooth road, but every challenge reminds me that as long as we keep showing up, leading with heart, and believing in what we’re building, we’ll continue to grow — together.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At my core, I help people believe in themselves and discover their potential, whether that’s through education, movement, or community. My work is centered around creating spaces where people feel supported, seen, and celebrated. I specialize in community wellness, women’s empowerment, and inclusive fitness programs that meet people exactly where they are.
Through my platforms, Sundays Run Club DFB, Mujeres Poderosas South Florida, and Sculpt Her, I bring together people of all backgrounds, ages, and fitness levels. From first-time runners to experienced athletes, from moms returning to movement to women discovering strength training for the first time, everyone is welcomed with open arms. I believe fitness should never feel intimidating; it should feel like belonging.
I’m most proud of the fact that our programs go beyond workouts; they build community. We celebrate milestones, organize charity drives, collaborate with local entrepreneurs, and host events that bring people together. What sets me apart is the cultural authenticity behind everything I do. As a Latina, I make it a point to honor our roots, from the Spanish music we play in class to the bilingual encouragement we share. I want people to feel represented, comfortable, and proud of who they are.
I also make it a priority to collaborate with small and women-owned businesses, especially those just starting out. I love helping others grow alongside us because I truly believe that when our community rises, we all rise together.
At the end of the day, what defines my work is heart. I don’t just lead classes or organize runs; I create safe, inclusive, and joyful spaces where people connect, move, and grow. That’s what I’m known for, and that’s what keeps me inspired every single day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe that luck shows up when preparation meets opportunity. In my journey, I’ve had moments that felt like good luck, but when I look closer, they came from consistency, faith, and community support. Every time the right person crossed my path or a door opened at just the right moment, it was because I kept showing up and doing the work even when no one was watching.
Of course, there have been moments that felt like bad luck too. Events that didn’t go as planned, sponsors who backed out last minute, or times when turnout was smaller than expected. But even in those situations, something good always came from it. Maybe I met someone new, learned a lesson, or discovered a better way to do things next time. I’ve learned that what feels like bad luck in the moment often turns out to be redirection.
The best kind of luck, though, has been my community. Getting to know so many amazing people, supporting one another, and watching families grow together has been the biggest blessing. I love seeing moms bring their kids, and kids watching their parents show up, move, and become the best versions of themselves. Seeing that next generation encouraged by their parents’ example is something truly special. That’s the kind of luck you can’t plan it’s built through love, connection, and purpose.
If I’ve had any true luck, it’s been in the incredible people who surround me. My husband, my friends, and our community continue to believe, show up, and share our mission and I consider that the greatest kind of luck there is.
