Today we’d like to introduce you to Annellyse Munroe. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Annellyse Munroe graduated from the New World School of the Arts High School in Miami, Florida, and graduated from the University of Florida Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. In 2019, she completed her Master of Science Degree in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University.
Throughout her career, Annellyse has worked with well-known organizations like Alivn Ailey II (2014-2016), New York Knicks Dancers (2018-2021), Miami Dolphins Cheer ( 2022-2023), and toured with Manuel Turizo in his (2021-2022) Dopamina Tour. She has also been part of notable events, such as the 2016 MTV Video Awards with Beyoncé and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt TV show.
Annellyse’s passion for dance goes beyond performance, as she enjoys sharing her expertise as a freelance dance teacher and dance competition judge. She has also gained experience in roles like the Student Life Coordinator at the American Ballet Theatre and an AD Sales Assistant for A&E Networks. She serves on the Board of Operations for We Are Queens Organization, which is a national network of dancers on college campuses committed to redefining the “starving artist” myth through community building & professional development.
Recently, Annellyse participated in the Mugler x H&M Fashion Show in New York, further enriching her industry experience and you can see her on Fox and Hulu in the reality show Farmer Wants A Wife Season 2. Her long-term goal is to grow in the entertainment sector and eventually become a Director of Entertainment and a TV host.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s crucial to recognize and confront the hurdles we encounter along our journey, whether it’s grappling with rejection in the dance world or transitioning careers in the corporate realm while juggling multiple passions. Balancing a dance and acting career alongside a corporate job certainly poses its challenges, but fueled by my love for these pursuits, I am dedicated to finding harmony among them.
With steadfast perseverance and unwavering consistency, I am confident in my ability to surmount these obstacles and reach my goals. I firmly believe that maintaining a commitment to my aspirations will inevitably pave the way for their realization.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Throughout my journey, I’ve learned important lessons that have shaped my perspective. One such lesson is to enter any room with the confidence that I belong there, envisioning myself in the role even before attaining it. I’ve come to understand that every experience, whether positive or challenging, is purposeful and meant to guide me along my path.
While I may have plans of my own, I’ve learned to remain open to the blessings the universe bestows upon me, often surpassing my expectations. Embracing opportunities that instill fear within me has taught me that stepping outside my comfort zone often leads to growth and fulfillment.
