Check Out Amanda Rose’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Rose.

Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Rooted in ancestral love, music, and movement, my work lives at the intersection of healing, birth, and liberation. I attended my first birth at 17 and was struck by both the power of that experience and how often women—especially those from marginalized communities—are unheard within medical institutions. Years later, my own home birth deepened my commitment to reclaiming bodily sovereignty and reshaping how we support one another through life’s most profound transitions.

For over two decades, I’ve worked as a massage therapist, energy worker, doula, and yoga teacher—care practices that have allowed me to support individuals and families while raising my own children in alignment with values of autonomy, interdependence, and care outside of extractive systems. My teaching and healing work are grounded in the belief that the body is a sacred site of knowledge, resistance, and renewal.

Beyond the healing arts, I remain devoted to movement in all forms: dancing, spinning records, and community organizing for collective liberation. My guiding question remains—what good is healing if it’s not for everyone? None of us are free until we’re all free.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest struggle was also in some ways, my biggest asset. I have always been a single mother and the remedy to that challenge was to form a small community of other like-minded single moms to raise my kids with. We created a beautiful family.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work at the intersection of birth, healing, and collective liberation. For over two decades I’ve supported people as a doula, massage therapist, and yoga teacher, creating spaces that honor the body’s wisdom and autonomy. My work blends ancestral connection, movement, and social justice—grounded in the belief that love and liberation belong to everyone. I’m proud to have built a life of care that resists extraction and centers interdependence and collective healing.

Any big plans?
I am part of a an amazing organization, Southern Birth Justice Network. We are in the process of building a birth center/community wellness space.
