Check Out Alina Poloboc’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Poloboc.

Alina Poloboc

Hi Alina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
“It all started when I was young; I always enjoyed painting, but I never imagined pursuing a career as an artist. I studied at the State University of the Republic of Moldova, specializing in International Relations. After graduating, I completed internships in the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova. It was during this time that I realized it wasn’t what I wanted to do in the future.

Shortly thereafter, I attended a television school and took private diction classes. Before long, I began my career in television. I worked as a reporter for three years and, after, I became a presenter on the first sports television channel in the country. It was an incredible experience that introduced me to many new acquaintances, but I still felt the need to find my true calling.

At the age of 22, I moved to Italy, where I finally had the time to paint every day and discovered that this was what truly made me happy. The ability to express my emotions through colors, textures, and shapes was a new and passionate experience for me.

When I turned 24, I relocated to Spain, where my dream of becoming a professional artist began. Currently, I work with several art galleries, organize individual exhibitions, and participate in Art Basel Miami.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“As a child, I spent a significant part of my life without my parents because, from the age of 10, my parents went abroad to earn money and provide us with the opportunity to study and have a better life. I always missed and longed for them, along with my younger brother.

After studying and working in television, I left the Republic of Moldova when I was 22 years old, in search of a change, a better life, freedom, and independence. It wasn’t easy at all. I had to learn Italian and German in Italy, and later I learned Spanish in Spain. I was fortunate to be a sociable person, which helped me immensely in making friends and finding ways to advance in my career.

In Italy, I worked as a babysitter for an Italian family, took care of an elderly lady, and did cleaning for a German family to earn my first income, which I spent entirely on art supplies. To be honest, this was the best purchase of my life, one that dramatically changed my life.

The journey to my dream was not easy, as I faced many challenges and hardships. But I always had a dream, and I always encountered very kind people who supported and helped me.

On this occasion, I would like to thank these people. I would also like to add here that everyone’s dreams should be encouraged and truly believed in, even if they sometimes seem impossible. Those who believe sincerely and take action will achieve their dreams.”

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
“I have officially been an artist and painter for 8 years now. During this time, I’ve experimented with various painting styles, but the ones that have left a lasting impression on me are those featuring ballerinas. Painting these subjects required me to study human anatomy, master the interplay of light and shadow on canvas, and work on larger canvases.

I’ve also organized several video projects featuring real ballerinas, allowing me to delve into the intricate world of ballet—a realm filled with dedication, hard work, discipline, smiles, and tears. One highlight was collaborating with the talented ballerina, Lucia Colosio, a person brimming with vitality, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
This experience has instilled in me a deep respect for the ballet community.

Currently, my artistic focus has shifted towards creating endearing characters brimming with unique personalities, which are subsequently transformed into 3D animations. I have plans to exhibit this collection, aptly named the ‘Fancy Collection,’ in Japan in 2024. This collection draws inspiration from real individuals I’ve encountered throughout my life.

You’ll find that the predominant color in most of my paintings is blue, as it serves as a constant source of inspiration for me. What I’m creating now is truly one-of-a-kind and authentic, and I have a plethora of ideas and strategies in mind for promoting these captivating characters.”

What matters most to you?
“The most significant priority in my life is finding happiness within myself, pursuing my passions, and, of course, nurturing an enduring spirit of aspiration. Equally important is the love and affection of those close to me, enriching my life with cherished moments that will remain unforgettable.”
