Check Out Alexis Nimmers’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Nimmers.

Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a marketing professional with over 14 years of experience, where I built a strong foundation in branding, creativity, and client engagement. While I’ve always enjoyed the creative side of marketing, decorating has been a personal passion of mine for years, especially designing beautiful tablescapes.

In 2022, I had the opportunity to decorate a friend’s bachelorette and bridal shower, and that experience really sparked something in me. I realized I loved not just styling tables, but bringing entire events to life through design and decor. From that moment on, I knew this was something I wanted to pursue more seriously.

In February 2026, after being laid off, I decided to take a leap of faith and go all in. I turned my passion into a full-time business focused on event decorating and flower wall rentals. Since then, I’ve been able to combine my marketing background with my creativity to build something of my own, helping clients create memorable, beautifully styled events.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road.

One of the biggest challenges was the transition from a stable, long-term marketing career into full-time entrepreneurship after being laid off in February 2026. Even though it pushed me into something I ultimately wanted to do, the shift comes with a lot of uncertainty, especially around income stability, building a client base from scratch, and figuring out how to structure a new business quickly.

Another challenge has been the learning curve of turning a creative passion into a scalable service. Decorating events is something I’ve always loved, but running a business around it means handling logistics, pricing, sourcing inventory, marketing, and client management, all at once. There are definitely moments of trial and error in figuring out what works operationally.

There’s also the emotional side of starting over. Leaving a 14 year career identity behind and stepping into something new required a lot of adjustment and self-trusts.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in event decorating with a focus on creating visually impactful, thoughtfully styled experiences, especially through tablescapes, dinner parties, and statement decor like flower wall rentals.

My work is rooted in detail and atmosphere. I’m known for dinner party decorating and creating elevated guest experiences that feel intentional, welcoming, and memorable. Whether it’s a bridal shower, birthday, or intimate dinner party, I take a client’s vision and translate it into a cohesive design that sets the tone for the entire event.

What sets me apart is the combination of my creative design eye and my 14 years of marketing experience. That background helps me understand branding, storytelling, and client vision in a way that goes beyond just decoration, I think about how the event should feel and how every detail supports that experience.

I’m most proud of the transformation I’ve made from doing small, passion-based projects, like decorating a friend’s bachelorette and bridal shower in 2022 to now running a full-time business after leaving a long corporate career. Taking that leap and building something from the ground up has been the most rewarding part of the journey, especially seeing clients react when they walk into a space I’ve designed for them.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is creating beautiful, intentional spaces where people can come together and genuinely enjoy themselves.

I’ve always loved decorating and hosting, especially designing tablescapes and dinner party experiences that feel thoughtful and elevated. Seeing an idea come to life, then watching people walk into a space I’ve designed and immediately light up, never gets old. That moment of joy and surprise is a big part of why I do this.

It also makes me happy to be building something of my own. After 14 years in marketing and then transitioning into entrepreneurship following my layoff in February 2026, I’ve found a new sense of purpose in combining creativity with business. There’s a lot of fulfillment in turning a long-time passion into real work that brings people together and helps them celebrate meaningful moments.

At the heart of it, it’s about connection-helping people feel celebrated in spaces that feel special to them.
