Check Out Adolfo Sistek’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adolfo Sistek

Hi Adolfo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Music has always been part of my life. I dont come from a really musical family playing instruments and being involved in it, but rather from a family that enjoys music a lot. My parents always played classics from all genres growing up. I picked up instruments like guitar and piano at a young age but it wasnt until my first year in college where i picked up music production and dj-ing. Fell in love with music on a new way cause I was finally being able to create rather than just consume it.

I started remixing songs in my free time between classes, really inspired by Kygo at the time. Fell in love with the process and through years of consistenly trying to find my sound I landed on something fresh I’ve never heard before in late 2023. From then I’ve been focusing on my chilean roots, where I listened to all kinds of music but to latin in particular.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a bumpy ride to say the least. I feel extremely grateful that I have a support system around me that has always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. The music industry is a tough one though. I’ve been through bad and abusive deals, and making it out of chile proved to be a big challenge.

I think the biggest struggle is always believing in yourself or your ideas even though you, might not see any results for years (or decades). My biggest struggle was finding my identity as a producer and artist. I knew what i loved, but it took a long time to embrace it, practice it and feel it trully.

Another big struggle for me was convicing myself that music was my career path. In Chilean society you dont really see it as a real carreer in any way. There’s no money around it and no one really takes you seriously. I still get asked all the time what will I do after my ‘little music thing’, and when will I get a real job! I find it hilarious now but it usually affected me a lot.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well, in simple terms I write, produce music and perform as a dj by the name of Sistek. Im really good at feeling melodies and combining things I havent heard before into some new type of interesting genre.

I’m known for the ‘sunset sessions’ i post on social media and my edm/afrohouse remixes of latin songs. I give a fresh spin to the genres and just try to make it my own.

I think what sets me apart from others is that I have lived in a lot of different places and experienced so many different cultures. the music im making is the result of combining what i love of music around the world.
