Today we’d like to introduce you to Lawson Lindsey.
Hi Lawson, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I fished growing up as a kid and learned as much as I could about fish, wildlife, and the environment around me. I went to college and just knew after my first year it wasn’t the path I wanted. I moved back home and got my captain’s license to do charters. I started posting my personal sessions on YouTube and it started picking up. I committed to it once I got more encouragement from successful YouTubers that I had what it takes. I love fishing and teaching others how to do it and about the fish they catch.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
YouTube is a daunting road. It requires so much sacrifice and hard work. I had to teach myself everything from filming to editing. There has been moments where I pour so much into my channel and not get anything back from it (i.e. views, subscribers, etc). It’s hard to stay relevant, creative, and consistent when the genre is fishing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have YouTuber that makes videos that revolve around fishing and the outdoors. I’m known for saltwater, inshore fishing. I’m most proud of the series I’ve gotten to film traveling to different parts of the world including Alaska, Australia, and Colombia. My knowledge and creativity I put into making fishing videos is what sets me apart.
