Today we’d like to introduce you to EvansTheKidd.

EvansTheKidd, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I come from downtown Miami where my biggest motivation was experiencing me and my family sharing a small mattress on the floor. Growing up, I had a speech problem where I couldn’t start or hold a conversation and had to go through years of therapy the school system provided for us with. But the music was always there for me and it was my escape and became my blood there’s not a single day I do not write music. I went through a lot of problems growing up including drugs and gang ties. It got to the point I was high and got picked up by police one day and later got put into an ambulance because I was experiencing health issues and they tagged my heart at 180 BPM which they explained to me that if I wasn’t so young and into sports, I would be experiencing a heart attack. But even though all the crazy stuff that came with the lifestyle I had, I stayed motivated to pursue my music. I met my brother 5th Element a bit after my incident and we both rapped and he produced the tracks. Later on, he introduced me to my brother Supreme Schemes and we clicked immediately. We went to the same high school and we would all skip lunch just to go freestyle every single day. We formed a group but later 5th went to Orlando and I and Supreme became Secret Society. There’s no stopping what we have, we’ve been really blessed to just be happy in working and hustling with all we got to bring all our projects into life.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I make rap music, both hip-hop and trap. I mastered making rhymes, flow, and using bars through my extensive love for 90s music. And brought in the sweet sound of modern trap and created the style I have today. I make these tracks through a simple process of thinking what separates, great from legendary. My inspirations is living for a purpose, and dying knowing I put my all into what I truly love. I really hope people take both positive and negative in my music, as I’m a firm believer in “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” so I always speak on negative things that shaped me to become a better person. I hope that message doesn’t get lost in time. Not for me, but so other people can turn their situations upside down and grow from it. If there is one thing people should really know about my art is that its all done through love for the hip hop culture.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success cant be defined by one, I think everyone has there own interpretation of what being successful means. Personally, I know I’ve succeeded when I step on stage and see thousands of people waiting to hear our music. I think something essential to reach your interoperation of success is the simple ingredient of how strong is your ambition.
