Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Lesesne.
Alexander, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Well to start, to be honest, I never saw myself being in the position I’m in right now. I came out of high school being a star athlete in wrestling being ranked third in the state of Florida and in the top fifty in the nation. For some reason, I always saw my journey going the athletic route. But coming out of my senior year something told me there was a bigger picture for me outside of sports. So I turned down my scholarships and followed my intuition. After high school, I started out being involved in film, acting, and producing events. I worked with my family, business LMG Entertainment, Producing a music & film festival called (MUMFF) Miami Urban Music & Film Festival and working in the corporate world. That platform allowed me to connect to the entertainment and arts scene as a whole and build a name for myself through the work. From there I threw shows and jumped into all types of film and production projects. Since then I started my own company BloodLine Marketing and have been building the name and brand up with my team through events targeted at nightlife, marketing and promotional services. I choose to take the entrepreneur route and made that my priority over my creative work for the most part but I still dabble in it, I’m still learning how to juggle both at the same time.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Well technically I don’t consider myself an artist, I identify more as an entrepreneur and creative. But I’ve acted in over five short films, one feature film and over five music videos. I’ve also written, directed and produced five short films myself, in and out of school. I wrote my first script my senior year of high school, that film script actually was the motivation that made me want to get into film. Many don’t know this but I write music, I’ve released two songs on sound cloud featuring an artist I manage and consult, that’s a good friend of mine, by the name of Lukeem. I’ve been more under the radar when it comes to music but I know it’s a talent of mine I want to express more publicly throughout this year and years to come. I’ve also modeled for a couple of local clothing brands, I’ve done more frequent modeling since the year started and now I’m pushing and modeling my own brand too.
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
My advice would be stay productive not just busy. Busy doesn’t always mean your progressing. Set goals and consistently measure your growth and take calculated strategic steps. I wish I knew this earlier because it could have helped me practice better habits and save time and money. A lot of people just move and do things without a real solid plan, before you know it days turn to months and months turn to years. Another tip that’s important is to build resourceful relationships, you’ll be surprised how far great relationships can take you in life. Look at each room you enter as a web, and within that web lies contacts that connect to the gold mine ”your goal”. Do research and learn how to connect dots and learn how to maneuver swiftly yet genuinely. Also, building a solid team is crucial. I know it can be difficult to find a team and to get everyone on the same page to see the same vision as you. But trying to do everything yourself can definitely slow your growth, There are skills each individual excels in and there are things individuals are weak in. Utilize the people around you who share the same vision as you to help uplift you in the areas you lack. I stand by teamwork makes the dream work
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can find some of my work on YouTube by searching my full name, I’ve screened some of my work at various events and at a few film festivals. I actually don’t have most of my work public as of now I’ve removed it from different platforms. My work has kind of been spread through word of mouth and from people seeing on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. People may support by coming out to our events that we’re producing monthly as of now. I’m also actually pushing my company BloodLine’s clothing brand so people can support by buying and rocking our merchandise.
