Good morning catherine, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that made me feel very proud was during the last two events I organized with BAUL. Seeing the growth of this project, which started three years ago, was truly exciting. At those events, I could see how all the effort, dedication, and love I have put into every step was reflected in the outcome. Additionally, working as a team and supporting emerging talent is something that deeply fulfills me; it is undoubtedly one of my greatest sources of pride
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Catherine Jaimes, a Colombian based in Miami, Industrial Engineer with 12 years of experience in the fashion industry and founder of Baul. Baul is a public relations firm specializing in fashion and lifestyle, dedicated to supporting and empowering designers and professionals from various fields who seek to expand their presence in international markets, especially in the United States.
Along the way, we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with international brands such as Ferrari, Cipriani, and Carbone Restaurant, as well as with various international fashion runways and events.
What sets Baul apart is our ongoing commitment to helping brands showcase their talent beyond borders, providing them with the tools and platforms they need to reach new audiences. This project was born from my passion for fashion and my desire to discover, promote, and connect creative talent with real opportunities for growth.
Today, we have a growing team and valuable strategic partners who enable us to continue strengthening our mission and elevating fashion and lifestyle on a global scale.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed everything had to go exactly as planned and that things needed to be perfect. I thought making mistakes was something bad. Over time, through experience and personal growth, I’ve come to understand that mistakes are a natural part of the journey and a powerful source of learning. Today, I value taking risks, adapting when things don’t go as expected, and continuing to pursue my dreams—knowing that even the setbacks are helping me move forward.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
There’s no need to worry excessively about the future; life, through its experiences, will gradually show you the path that truly leads to happiness. Everything you set out to achieve is attainable with consistent effort and dedication, but it’s essential to learn to appreciate and enjoy each stage of the process. Even if you meticulously plan and organize your goals, unforeseen circumstances may always arise that can alter your course. That’s why it’s important to stay calm, remain flexible, and learn to embrace the present with greater fulfillment.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what truly matters to me is my family, as well as loyalty and transparency in every aspect of my life.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel at peace and truly fulfilled when I can dedicate myself to what I love, both professionally and personally. These moments become even more meaningful when I am surrounded by my family, with whom I share a deep relationship based on love and harmony. Additionally, I am inspired by being around positive, kind people who are committed to helping others, as their energy and purpose strengthen my motivation and well-being
