Bilitis Bokobza of Hallandale beach on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bilitis Bokobza. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Bilitis, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
This past year has been an emotional rollercoaster for me since my grandmother passed away unexpectedly. It’s a huge loss because we were very close. She lived to be 91 and was such a vibrant, positive person. Her joy was contagious, and she always offered the best advice to help others feel good and happy. She encouraged me to become the best version of myself, regularly complimenting my work, my passions, and my personality—with a playful tease about my quirks!

Her lively spirit led her to become an influencer on social media, where she gained over 60,000 followers worldwide. People loved watching her live streams, reels, and just seeing her authentic self. She’s a big reason why I enjoy connecting with others so much. Helping people comes from my heart because I believe everyone deserves kindness and care. This is the lesson she thought me.

Even though watching her videos can be difficult at times, her voice and expressions bring me joy when I’m feeling down. I often remind myself to continue making her proud because of the deep love we shared.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’ve been a makeup artist and hairstylist for over twenty years. Growing up in the fashion world, I was surrounded by style, as my parents owned retail stores specializing in women’s clothing and accessories. My mom worked as a buyer, sharing her insights on color palettes, merchandising concepts, and how to help clients feel beautiful.

I discovered my passion for makeup artistry by doing my sisters’ and friends’ makeup for family events and school’s events too at a young age. Later, I attended a professional makeup and beauty school called Yves Rocher. I also studied fashion design in Paris, France, which allowed me to blend my two passions seamlessly.

What I love most is making people feel beautiful and confident. I focus on enhancing their natural beauty, referring to it as an upgrade rather than a makeover.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Here’s a rewritten version of your text:

**Trust.**

I believe trust has the unique ability to both break and restore bonds. Growing up in a family that valued morals and principles, I learned some simple yet powerful rules for success: having integrity, showing loyalty, being honest, giving your best effort, appreciating what you have, practicing gratitude, and staying connected with those who matter.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I think everyone at one point of their life feel pain . I had pain when business went slow and that I had less clients which obviously led to less income.
But in reality it was a moment in my life where I actually questioned myself about why and how and what could have led me into this situation. So I wrote on my notebook the pros and cons of how I managed my business and how I could improve it. It helped me a lot and rebuild my confidence.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes , I’m 100% true and straightforward.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Compassion. A lot of people these days don’t have compassion for one another.
