Augusto, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Nature makes me forget about time; it reminds me that time doesn’t exist and that by simply being present, we realize we live in an eternal ‘now.’ Observing in silence is one of the most powerful ways to learn and connect with the whole. I wish I could live without time—to simply be and keep creating—but when I remember I have an interview, a client to see, or a sold piece to mail, I return to myself. I re-enter the system where time is a necessary tool for organization; yet, I flow with it all the same, trying to never let time dominate me or break my sense of calm and peace.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I was born creative!
“As far back as I can remember, I was drawing, painting, taking photos, and exploring expressive media. There was never any doubt about what I would be doing in the future! I developed a loyal and strong work ethic driven by the desire to impress all who viewed my work. I also train my brain every day with the hardest work out routines to challenge and grow my natural talent and desire to always keep improving while being unique.
I am a Latin American artist from Colombia who began my career as an Art Director for some of the most prestigious advertising agencies in the world. My creations reflect a deep appreciation not only for fine art but also for photography, mixed media, and industrial design. I am the founder of UN!Q, an art brand dedicated to exploring and delivering pieces that are truly incomparable. Every creation we produce is one-of-a-kind. We are UN!Q—for unique people like you.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
While my time as an Art Director at global agencies taught me about discipline and craft, my truest mentor has been life itself. High-stakes environments and world travel gave me the tools, but life taught me how to see. It taught me that the most valuable things are the ones that cannot be replicated. Every challenge, every culture I’ve encountered, and every risk I’ve taken has been a masterclass in creativity. In the end, life is the only teacher that shows you how to turn raw experience into something truly one-of-a-kind.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Was there ever a time I almost gave up? The answer is no. For me, giving up has never been an option. I would rather die with my head full of dreams than live a life where I’ve forgotten my ideas, my challenges, or my projects. I hold onto the conviction that I am the sole architect of my own reality. It is this unwavering certainty that leads to success—and to me, success is not just a title. It is the perfect balance of inner peace, health, and economic freedom. As long as I am breathing, the vision stays alive.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The artistic design industry has evolved significantly over time, even more so with the rise of new technologies. While there are designers and brands that remain truly unique, we also see the great illusion of ‘exclusivity.’ Many luxury brands sell a concept of rarity that is, in reality, a lie; their products are mass-produced in countries like China, India, or Korea, yet marketed under the ‘Made in Italy’ label. Furthermore, with the advent of AI, we are now flooded with art and products generated by computers and fully robotic machinery.
UN!Q stands apart. Our products are handcrafted and born from a human mind—my mind. They are fueled by genuine creativity, love, and passion.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Many in this industry are driven solely by indiscriminate profit. We see brands destroying the planet with excessive, senseless production—treating the Earth as their personal dumping ground for their surplus.
What sets me apart is consciousness and the act of creating from my divine essence. I understand that we must protect our planet and its resources. I understand that local, small-scale production is the only sustainable path forward. I understand that my true purpose is to serve my clients with excellence, ensuring my products provide real value and meaning. Above all, I understand that creating my art should never come at the cost of harming any living species.
