Today we’d like to introduce you to Wadly Estel.
Wadly, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
My name is Wadly Estel, born and raised in Miami, FL. I always knew I wanted to go to college but never knew what I wanted to become. While at college, I held many job titles and the one thing I enjoyed doing was planning events. After submitting endless job applications and being denied due to minimal experience, my unique story began May 6th, 2017, the day after I graduated from undergrad. I had borrowed a friends graduation stole and she came to pick it up. When she arrived she asked “Wadly, what’s next”, I quickly responded, “I am going to become an Event Planner and plan all types of events”. She responded, “Oh that’s great, I get married in the Fall of next year (September 29, 2018), do you think you can plan my wedding?” I quickly responded “Yes, I know I can” out of excitement. She replied “I am currently negotiating a contract with a planner now, I will be making a decision soon so get back to me with your price and services”. As she drove off I thought to myself, “This has to be God, because I have no idea what I just talked myself into”, I had no experience in wedding planning, all my experience came from an Event Planning Internship the previous summer, but that was working with meetings and conferences, never did we have a wedding held at that facility, but I was determined. I reached back out to her within a couple of days and one month later I penciled my very first client. I asked her why she chose me, she replied, “Although you never planned a wedding, you spoke with so much confidence and knew so much, I know you will deliver”. I accepted her challenge to deliver the wedding of her dreams and nothing less.
I did just that, three months into being her planner her entire wedding was planned, for the remaining 12 months all that was left were photos and invitation. In those 12 months, I took it upon myself to gain mentors in the wedding industry, I had a wedding to deliver and I wanted to make sure I knew all there is to know about weddings. I joined The Bridal Society, their Certified Wedding Planning program gave me all the ins and outs about wedding planning and the industry itself. During this time, I fully understood my passion and the impact Estellar Events would make on the wedding industry. I also fully understood my role as a planner. September 29th rolled around and the big day arrived, 250 guests in attendance and the night went as smooth as possible.
After this event, I knew God had me from the beginning, and I was ready to bring many more dreams to reality, Estellar Events has been doing so since day 1. We are now a team of 2. We are celebrating our two year anniversary by expanding Estellar Events. We now welcome the Estellar Booth, an interactive photo booth to keep guests engaged with others while creating unforgettable memories. We started out by bringing dreams to reality, now we will be creating unforgettable memories as well.
With faith in God and yourself, all goals can be accomplished.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a Wedding Planner. The vision and goal behind Estellar Events is to bring dreams to reality. We do this by getting to know our Estellar couples, building a close relationship to properly guide throughout their planning process. This way we understand what the Estellar bride/groom likes & dislikes. Throughout our various planning meetings, we take their dreams and put it on display. When the wedding day arrives, our main goal is to ensure that the Estellar couple is enjoying their day with their guests, same thing goes for the family & friends, we take the work away from all family & friends as they should be enjoying the special day as well.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
There are so many ways to connect with other artists. Attend networking events, always go in with the mindset to meet others, if you can build a relationship with someone you will one day have the opportunity to learn from them or sell to them. No matter where you are keep your business cards on you because you meet new people daily. For those who struggle meeting people in their area, go on Facebook and see if there is a community group for what you provide, I guarantee you there probably is one out there, join them and learn from the experts that have been in that profession longer than you.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
