Art & Life with Florencia Caserta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Florencia Caserta.

Florencia, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Well, this is my Story. In the year 2001, I met Pablo Romero, an Argentinian Music Producer, who heard me singing while I was practicing in my guitar lesson and invited me to participate in a Covers Record he was working on at that time. From that moment, magic happened. In the year 2002 he proposed me to work together in a solo album and after 2 years of work with the most talented musicians of the area, my first Album ‘Flor’ was born in an independent format to then be relaunched through Universal Music Argentina in the year 2004 now with Gustavo Santaolalla as the producer. That very first Album took me to the most Incredibles stages in Argentina such as River Plate Stadium and Gran Rex Theater, one of the most important in Buenos Aires and different nominations in the Gardel Music Awards (very Important in Argentina) and the MTV Latin Music Awards celebrated in Mexico.

I never stopped singing and making music since then. I was lucky to be able to travel through all Argentina, my beautiful Country, and now the United States sharing my music in different stages.

In the year 2011, I launched a Second album, “Solar”, but this time just kept it as an Independent production.

Currently, I find myself working in a new Album and writing music for some artists.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
The way I see it and feel it, music can lead you to different states, places, situations, feelings, thoughts… just in the act of listening to it. Music is a magical and powerful weapon and as such I think is very important to be aware of what you are saying, what’s the message you want to give, what’s the vibe… My music, since I started, was focused on giving people a positive message.

All of my songs start with me and my guitar, most of the time during the morning. Morning is inspiring to me but anyways I don’t take inspiration for granted. I sit every morning in my desk, with paper, pencil and guitar and start working… sometimes a first chord takes me to the song to be, sometimes it is a word, that always changes. But the point is to do it every day as an exercise, even when you couldn’t make a good song, it was worth it to try and don’t waste that precious time.

Songs are like stories to me and as such not always are auto-referential, is fun to play with words and situations, but the common factor is always love, respect and the positive.

Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
Never stop doing what you love!

Fall in love with your voice, trust your talent (These are personal ones. I never trusted in me, never was good enough, I was really hard on myself and took me many years to be able to enjoy my music ) work hard, and be sure to be well accompanied. I felt very lonely when I started, but now been surrounded by good people, I feel better, confident and happy in what I’m doing. Always look for advice. Sometimes to be a solo artist it doesn’t mean you can do everything by yourself. That’s the lesson I’ve learned and put me in a different position today.

Never compare to others because what you are able to do from YOUR HEART is much more valuable than trying to do something that is already done.

And last but not least, never stop studying.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
