Art & Life with Daria Danatelli

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daria Danatelli.

Daria, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I was born in the 80’s and this era gave me the strongest inspiration for becoming a musician. I tried myself in various genres – from jazz to glam-rock, from ethnic music to RnB, etc., so I can call myself a multi-genre singer with a vocal range of about 4 octaves and constant curiosity and eagerness to share my music with all the Universe. And somehow every skill helps me nowadays in creating my own music. I’ve been singing for all of my life, and live performances are making me feel me myself, as well as the studio working. I am a real workaholic and a real perfectionist, to be honest. I entered the synthwave scene in 2016, and I am happy now to have so many like-minded friends among musicians from all over the world, some of them became my really close friends and “partners in crime.”

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Today I am a synthpop singer, though I am trying to make my music more interesting not only for the synthwave lovers but also for the other audiences. One of my favorite songs of mine is called “Music Is The Answer,” and I guess it represents my musical attitude the best, and actually this is my main message – Music is that very language that unites people. Through my music I am trying to show my inner world and every song is a tiny history with lots of references – to my life stories, to my thoughts, to my favorite books and movies, to my musical idols, to the cities and countries – and this quintessence gives me an opportunity to share all that I have inside with all the world around me. I love the process of composing because sometimes I meet a thousand torments and sometimes the song is born in one hour. I am really sure that music makes us better and that music-making opens new horizons in our inner worlds, makes us think different and makes us speak that very unique language.

Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities, and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
I think that digital epoch with all these gadgets and technologies made the task for artists easier and harder at the same time. Everyone nowadays can catch its 20 seconds of fame because of all the internet possibilities, but at the same time, it is so difficult to be prominent and to hold the attention of the audience. But I am sure that if the artist produces a really worthy music, then it will be heard and distinguished for sure. It is always cool when people can watch live shows. I am sure that live performances are making the artists be closer to their audience and all the emotions are expressed better this way. So, I think, well-organized unusual and interesting thematic parties with various artists and authentical atmosphere could help people to meet new names, to listen to well-known artists and to dive like into another dimension at least for a while than to be encouraged and inspired.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
