Andrea Garcia of Coral Gables on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Andrea Garcia and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
I have to say that the most recent time I felt loved was when I opened my studio. The support came from so many directions, family, friends, clients, even people I hadn’t spoken to in years reached out with kind words and encouragement. It was overwhelming in the best way, because it made me realize how many people believed in me and wanted to see me succeed.

At first, I wasn’t sure if I deserved that much love. Opening a studio felt like such a big leap, and I questioned if I was ready. But in that moment, I learned that sometimes the love others reflect back to you is a reminder of the effort, passion, and heart you’ve been putting in all along. And yes, now I know I deserved it, because I worked hard to build something rooted in care and purpose.

The most amazing part is that I didn’t do it alone, I did it with my family, friends, clients, and loved ones right by my side. It was the exact love I had always dreamed of.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Andrea Garcia, and I’m a holistic esthetician and founder of Andrea Your Esthie Studio in Coral Gables. After years in the industry, I took the leap to open my own studio, a space dedicated to skincare that goes beyond the surface.

What makes my studio unique is the connection I create with each client. For me, facials aren’t just about results, they’re about care, trust, and creating a moment where someone feels seen and supported. I truly care about the people who walk through my door, and I want every treatment to leave them not only glowing on the outside but also lighter and more grounded on the inside.

I’m also very proud that my journey has inspired other estheticians in the industry to go on their own and chase their dreams. It makes me so happy to now be able to share my knowledge through classes and guidance, giving back to the community that has given me so much.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom has always been the one who saw me clearly before I could see myself. She believed in my strength and potential even in moments when I doubted if I was capable. She reminded me that I was made for more, and that I had a gift for helping people feel cared for.

Looking back, I realize how much her encouragement shaped me. Her faith in me gave me the courage to take risks, to step into the unknown, and to create the life I have today. A lot of what I do now, caring for others, creating connection, working with love, is a reflection of what she always saw in me.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of not being enough has been the one that’s held me back the most. For a long time, I questioned whether I was ready, capable, or deserving of chasing big dreams. That fear made me hesitate, second-guess myself, and play small when deep down I knew I was meant for more.

But over time, I learned that fear doesn’t go away, you just learn to move with it. Taking the leap to open my studio was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made, but it also taught me that courage isn’t about not feeling fear, it’s about choosing to act in spite of it. Now, whenever fear shows up, I try to see it as a sign that I’m stepping into something meaningful.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest líes or misconception in the beauty industry is that success comes from competition, from comparing yourself, doing what everyone else is doing, or trying to be “better” than the person next to you. I don’t believe in that. If you’re truly good at what you do, and you show up authentically, competition doesn’t exist.

Clients are drawn to your energy, your heart, and the way you make them feel. That can’t be copied. The industry often pushes the idea that you have to fight for your place, but I believe the opposite: when you stay true to yourself and your values, the right people will always find you. And I hope more people in this industry realize that there’s enough space for everyone to shine, in their own unique way.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I made them feel loved and cared for. That I inspired them to take care of themselves, to follow their own dreams, and to remember that beauty starts from within. If people can look back and say I left a mark of kindness, authenticity, and encouragement, then I know I lived with purpose.
