An Inspired Chat with The Zappe Cats

The Zappe Cats shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

The Zappe Cats, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
It’s a three-legged table, kick one out and you’re eating off the floor. Intelligence keeps us sharp, energy keeps us alive on stage, and integrity keeps it real. We’ll keep all three, thanks.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re The Zappe Cats, a rock and roll band, three Venezuelan musicians who ended up in Miami and had to start from scratch. Playing together has been our way of rebuilding, keeping a piece of where we came from while creating something new here. Since we formed, we’ve been putting out music regularly and playing shows around Florida to share it.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Moving from Venezuela to the U.S. was that moment for all of us. Starting over with almost zero changes the way you see everything, not just music, but life itself. It made us value resilience, friendship, and the idea that you can rebuild while carrying your history with you.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Stop overthinking and get on with it. Life won’t wait for you to feel ready, and you’re stronger than you think.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Keeping our roots alive. Even far from home, we carry that sense of community and resilience that shaped us. It reminds us who we are and gives weight to what we create together.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Not making the most of what we’ve been given here. We left a lot behind when we moved, so if we don’t give everything to what we’re building now, that would be the real regret
