An Inspired Chat with Shae Bynes of Fort Lauderdale

Shae Bynes shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Shae, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
On weekdays, I spend my first hour (from 6:15 to 7:15 AM) with my 8-year-old daughter getting her ready for school. Once she’s off to school, I have breakfast and a cup of coffee…unless it’s one of my gym days. On those days, I head to the gym.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As a former chronic overachiever who majored in “the grind” and held an honorary degree from Team No Sleep University, I knew how to deliver results in business, but it came with a cost I couldn’t keep paying.

Then came the revelation of grace, and it changed everything for me. I define grace as divine enablement: the power beyond your own strength that helps you lead with wisdom, clarity, and strength, especially under pressure. It’s the unseen force that provides peace and offers sustainable success.

What started as a personal transformation in how I worked and led grew into a global ripple effect, impacting over a million people through my books, courses, podcasts, and online community. With 25 years of leadership experience — including time at a Fortune 50 company and more than a decade as a founder and business owner — I now serve entrepreneurs and executives through The Grace Effect, my signature framework for building cultures where both people and results flourish with ease.

I’ve seen firsthand that grace isn’t just a spiritual idea; it’s the most powerful force for transformation in business and life.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My father. As a child, I don’t ever remember feeling anything other than loved, protected, provided for, and fully capable of doing whatever I set my head, heart, and hands to.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Entrepreneurship is a wild adventure filled with both highs and lows. When I think about the toughest parts of my journey, personally and professionally, the most valuable lessons came through suffering. Those moments revealed more of God’s character to me than success ever could.

Early in my full-time entrepreneurship journey, we had a couple of challenging years. Revenue was low, we eventually ran out of savings, and our family had to sell our home. However, we also experienced numerous miracles, both big and small. I learned something during that season I’ll never unlearn: God is the Source. Everyone and everything else are resources.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
People who first follow me online and later meet me in person usually say the same thing: I’m exactly who they expected. Authenticity is one of my highest core values, so I don’t compartmentalize who I am. Whether I’m speaking on a stage, advising a leader, or relaxing with family and friends, what you see is what you get.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Her joy was infectious, her love was genuine, and my life is better because she embodied grace in how she led and served the world around her.
