An Inspired Chat with Peter Coissy of Miami

We recently had the chance to connect with Peter Coissy and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Peter, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
“One of the most surprising things I’ve learned is that most people don’t know how to protect themselves when danger strikes. From experience, nearly 80% of individuals panic and slip into survival mode, which often creates greater risks. In the security field, our responsibility goes beyond just handling the threat—we must control the environment, reduce chaos, and guide people to safety. By influencing individuals to remain calm and follow direction, we can protect them not only from external dangers, but also from the risks created by their own instincts.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the owner and founder of Coissy Security Services, a company built on a natural gift that God gave me—the instinct to protect. Since I was young, I have always had an unshakable drive to safeguard both people and assets, to bring order where there is chaos, and to create an environment where others feel secure.

Coissy Security Services was born out of that calling. Our mission goes beyond standard security—we aim to reintroduce safety and stability to communities and countries all over the world. We believe true protection is more than just presence; it’s about leadership, trust, and the ability to guide people in the midst of danger. That is the standard we bring to every client, every property, and every environment we serve.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful goes back to 6th grade. I had a friend named Stacy who was overweight, and she often picked on another girl in our class, Sardi. I didn’t like watching that happen, and one day I decided to step in. I stood up for Sardi and turned the attention back on Stacy, telling her she needed Jenny Craig to lose weight. From that moment, she stopped bothering Sardi.

That experience showed me something important—that I had a natural instinct to protect those who couldn’t defend themselves. It was the first time I realized that using my voice and presence could change a situation, shield someone from harm, and restore balance. Looking back, that moment was the seed that grew into my lifelong mission: protecting people and creating safe environments.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be this: Love yourself and strive for greatness. People’s approval does not define who you are, nor does it determine who you will become. Your strength comes from within, and the gifts God gave you will guide you into your purpose.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I do not believe in being a different person for anyone. I’ve always chosen to be 100% truthful and outgoing, because pretending to be someone else only causes damage. Being false doesn’t help—it only hurts. I would never risk destroying the legacy I’m building by creating fake characteristics just to please the world. The person you see in public is the same person I am in private: real, honest, and authentic.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes. I believe that practice makes permanence—not perfection. I don’t need applause or recognition to give everything my best. I compete only with myself, pushing to become greater every day. For me, success isn’t about who’s watching; it’s about living up to my own standards and mastering the gifts God placed within me.
