We recently had the chance to connect with Nidia Gonzalez and have shared our conversation below.
Nidia, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think one of the biggest misconceptions about our business is that social media is just about posting content. In reality, it’s deeply rooted in psychology and consumer behavior. Every caption, visual, and campaign we put together is built to influence how people perceive a brand, connect emotionally, and ultimately make decisions. What many people don’t realize is that behind the scenes we’re studying data, trends, and human behavior—not just clicking ‘post.’ There’s a real strategy and science to it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Nidia Gonzalez. I’m the founder of Dreamy Socials, a creative social media agency, and Dream Studios, a content space in Miami designed for creators and brands. At my core, I’m passionate about helping people bring their visions to life—whether that’s through strategy, storytelling, or creating the kind of content that actually resonates with an audience. What makes my work unique is the way I merge creativity with psychology: I don’t see social media as just posting, I see it as shaping perception, influencing behavior, and building real communities around brands.
Dreamy Socials was born out of wanting to give clients content that feels aspirational yet authentic, while Dream Studios became an extension of that—providing a space for people to create on their own terms. Right now, I’m working on scaling both sides: growing our roster of clients at the agency, hosting activations at the studio, and building community events that connect creatives in Miami. For me, it’s all about creating impact online and offline—and making sure people feel inspired along the way.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Honestly, I’ve always been me. Even before the world tried to tell me who I should be, I never listened to external forces. I trusted my own instincts, followed my own path, and I think that’s always been my superpower—staying grounded in who I am no matter what noise is around me.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have definitely been several moments where I felt like giving up. Entrepreneurship isn’t easy—it tests you constantly. But I truly love what I do, and I love teaching what I do. That passion always pulls me through. Even when things get tough—as they inevitably do—I remind myself of my ‘why,’ and that reminder keeps me grounded and motivated to keep going.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
I think one of the biggest lies the industry tells itself is that going viral is a strategy. Virality doesn’t always equate to conversion, and sometimes people go viral for the wrong things—moments that aren’t even aligned with their brand goals. For example, imagine a clothing brand that blows up for a totally random moment online. Sure, they get followers, but now people are associating the brand with something completely off-message. What was the point of that? You’ve built awareness, but not the right kind.
Another lie is that ‘anyone can do this’—that social media is just about posting. In reality, it’s about psychology, data, storytelling, and strategy all coming together.
And of course, there’s still the obsession with vanity metrics. More followers doesn’t necessarily mean more success. A smaller, loyal audience will always be more powerful than a large but disengaged one.
The truth is, social media isn’t just about the numbers—it’s about building influence, loyalty, and a community that actually converts.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Definitely born. I’ve been creating since I was a kid—editing videos, making YouTube content, blogging—it’s just always been part of me. No one had to tell me to do it, it was instinct. Looking back, everything I was drawn to growing up led me here, so I truly believe I’m doing what I was born to do.
