We’re looking forward to introducing you to Michael Butler . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Michael , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I believe that people are truly struggling with trying to be themselves . You’re given a name at birth , but that name doesn’t define you , what defines you is who you choose to become and being true to yourself . A lot of us are being who someone else wants us to be , l think once you get over that hump , you can truly find yourself and become a better you …
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Cycling is my passion , l love to give back and l use my love of cycling to do that. I am also a motivator , l strive on uplifting others and myself .. There was a time in my life where l couldn’t find my smile , l was weak and my thoughts were negative . I struggled with myself and my purpose in life. But now l no longer face those challenges , l am stronger and better now because l chose to make changes and not be in denial . I am now working on my book of life, l hope to have it done by the end of this year . It is my hope to turn my story into a movie .. Dream BIG or don’t dream at all…
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I strongly believe that your word is your bond , so if you say you’re going to do something , do it …What restores them is holding yourself accountable for your wrongs and doing your best to make them right .
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
After trying to commit suicide and failed , l used that as power , l used that to help others . I am never afraid to talk about it because there are people that need to hear it , l even wrote a poem about it , it’s called When The Seagulls Cried .. When the two seagulls cried, they saved him from the depths of suicide ,their cries were that of a newborn baby , their cries were what saved his life – Michael Butler
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say that helping others really matters to me. My kids ,my family, and self improvement..
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace while on a long bike ride and being around my close friends and family …
