Lizzy Morales shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Lizzy, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building this deep sense of self acceptance. It allows for an environment where I can sincerely feel comfortable being myself.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Running has been a part of my life since I was a teenager, but my journey truly deepened when I took up endurance running 9 years ago. Since then, I’ve completed 22 half marathons, 8 full marathons, and countless 5Ks and 10Ks—each one teaching me something new about discipline, patience, and the joy of the sport. Over the years, I’ve learned not just about running, but about resilience, balance, and the importance of listening to your body. Earning my run coaching certification has sharpened my tools and has given me the confidence to launch my run coaching business.
My mission is to help people feel strong in their bodies—working with them, not against them. I design training that takes real life into account—jobs, families, and the unexpected—because running should complement life, not compete with it. Whether you’re a brand new runner looking to build consistency or an experienced athlete ready to push your limits, I’m here to guide you toward your goals while keeping you healthy and avoiding overtraining.
My coaching philosophy is simple: maintain a balanced life while putting in the smart, consistent work it takes to achieve our running dreams.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that played it safe and walked the line society told me to, has served its purpose. I am releasing that part of me that was conditioned to think a certain way so I can forge a new path in this next era of my life.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failure has always been a constant in my life, but if you never start the journey you are already failing. I’ve had to rewrite that narrative and think about all the wonderful things that might happen if you just simply try.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I value authenticity in the people I surround myself with , so I try my hardest to be my most authentic self.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop second guessing things. Sometimes I can be too analytical. The time limit would probably make me feel like I have to take advantage of the present moment.
