We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kristina Hernandez. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Kristina , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Greeting my dogs when i get home, being able to be active and move my body
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kristina Hernandez, founder of Bundlebee LLC. Bundlebee is a unique way of treating yourself and others. Our ways of shopping with us include subscribing to our brand where you receive curated surprise boxes 4 times a year to treat yourself with self care items ranging from wellness must haves, accessories, home goods, beauty, and lifestyle goodies. All of what us girls know and love. It’s a surprise treat from you to you, something we need to prioritize just a bit more. We also offer personalized gift bundles to gift others. Whether its a birthday bundle, a get well soon bundle, or a “just because” to a friends and family member that you want to make smile – we can make it happen. What makes us unique and stand out from the rest is that we source small businesses from all over the WORLD to make these bundles come to life. That’s right, we even have brands in Switzerland and the UK trying to make United States presence. Items from Bundlebee are majority small business creators who pour their heart and soul into their products, and deserve more recognition. While there may be small business brands that are recognizable that have reached a larger platform that we carry, we can gurantee more than half of our vendors you might have not heard of them before, and the goal is for you to know and love them. That is where we come into the picture. So not only is this brand filled with unique and personalized gifting and experiences, it is small business focused. For someone who loves discovering brands like they haven’t before, we are the one stop shop for it all!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My family. My family are all made of entrepreneurs. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by family with a creative mindset and that influence me to want to start something of my own.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was many times when starting this if I was qualified or even able to take this on at such a young age. This inspired from an idea when I was in college, and I was extremely impulsive with it. So much that when I opened, I felt like slow and steady would have run the race. There was little to no preparation and I took off and ran with it, which definitely came with some set backs. I struggled a bit in the beginning due to that, but I realized with a business, refreshes and corrections are never too late. It actually becomes more noticeable when you take the brand to the next level over time, people notice. I was able to do a rebrand, research legitimate website platforms that can allow me to run efficiently, and here we are. I can assure you this was not smooth in the very beginning and took a lot of trial and error to be able to say I am doing this the right way now. I easily could have given up, but I brought myself to realize how passionate I am about the idea, I just needed to execute it the right way. So this is a sign if you opened a brand or a business impulsively, and are not happy with operations or how it is being portayed… do not give up! Work on getting it where y0u want it to be little by little. I fell in love with my brand like I haven’t before after finally getting to the aesthetic and approach that I want it to be, and I am still looking to learn and grow on making it better.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am deeply committed to making thoughtful gifting more accessible and intentional. With Bundlebee, my number one priority is to make meaningful connections, not just selling products. Every box tells a story, and every brand I collaborate with has their own unique story too. Success in having my business recognized in that way takes time, but staying authentic to that matters more than just making a sale. No matter how long it takes, I am constantly finding ways to deliver my mission and niche, but it definitely takes a lot of creativity to deliver it effectively.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
My customers would miss my attention to detail, the thoughtfulness of curating every box that I know my subscribers will know and love, and discovering hard working small businesses through my very own. As the founder, I am the one that continues to curate bundle ideas, and personally reach out to my clients too. I do not want to be that brand that your talking to 100 different people and your just a number. I want every client to feel like family and friends. Like I said in the previous prompt, my INTENTION with my brand is more important than making sales. My subscribers and customers are reminded through each purchase, they are making a difference in supporting numerous of small business brands beyond my very own. They are making a difference in the small business community.
