An Inspired Chat with King-A’B Cher of Miami

King-A’B Cher shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning King-A’B, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
This is a very great question! As an artist, people think that we’re chasing money, fame, trophies… All of those superficial things that don’t really mean any in the long run. What a TRUE artist really wants is the ability to communicate. We write and release music because there is a message that we are wanting to communicate to the people. I believe that is what is misunderstood in the business of being a music artist.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are Glisad Music & our motto is “Alwayz Never Sad!” We are people of positivity & that is what we want to exude out into the world. Glisad Music comprises of 2 people: King-A’B Cher, who is the founder, songwriter, composer, main vocalist & guitarist & Queen K Cher, who is the manager, producer, arranger, & instrumentalist (Viola). Our brand represents the Nature – so you will hear nature elements in our music quite a bit. We are also people of knowledge, truth and wisdom. There is a “Message to the Nations” that we’ve been putting out there in our music, the people just have to have the ears to listen and the understanding to catch what we’re saying.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest memory I have of feeling powerful is when I was able to go ANYWHERE & just sing! I didn’t care about where I was, who was around or anything like that. Singing is my biggest passion and I’m going to do so, no matter what! There’s no greater power than that!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to never let go of your passion & not listen to your enemy’s mouth! I would encourage him to keep going because it’s going to lead you to high places later on in your career & life!

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
I would say it’s the importance of communication. Authentic communication can solve a lot of the world’s issues right now (the exchange between speaking and listening). It’s the lack of that exchange that is making things worse.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m engaging with who & what I love most – that is my family & my music.
