An Inspired Chat with Jacquelyn Bevilacqua of Palm Beach

Jacquelyn Bevilacqua shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Jacquelyn, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Waking up with my two daughters at 6AM, we feed our bunny and dog and get them dressed and ready for school. I’ll start my first private around 8, if I don’t go in at 7. I’ll be teaching either heated pilates, pilates reformer or barre till about 1PM. I usually end my day by hitting Drift and getting an iced matcha latte with pistachio mylk before getting my girls from school. – well usually come back to the house and we’ll make dinner together as a family – and I’ll always recap with my team about the day we had and the future one ahead. It is true as a business owner and a single mother, there are no days off or rest.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I started my business in my early 20s and now approaching 40, evolving every step of the way. I’ve always said my studios were my first babies before my daughters and the people within those walls are my forever family. I believe in timeless elegance with progressive details. Pilates was introduced to me at an early age from modeling and has been in my bones from athleticism. I lead my classes in a way that manipulate muscles to precise fatigue and intention.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The fear of failure always pushed me to work harder, but at some point you have to realize if you haven’t failed yet to stop living in fear. Fear isn’t a place anyone should be as encouragement, but confidence.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
Playing the piano and dance, it was my therapy and outlet to express myself.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Unfortunately with fitness fads, many instructors aren’t qualified to be teaching and or studios label themselves as Pilates, when in fact they don’t have the right equipment or pedigree behind them. It’s very unsettling how modalities and qualifications can be falsely portrayed and sold.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
My why. My two daughters are my driving force for success and push me to be the best woman. That encourages me then to show up for my community and give my best self.
