An Inspired Chat with Danyella Canyes of Boca Raton, FL

Danyella Canyes shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Danyella, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I ideally want to start my day with a workout so the first 90 minutes involves me going to the gym!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Dani, the founder of BellaBuzzMedia — a creative agency specializing in high-quality Reels, branding shoots, and scroll-stopping content for creators, entrepreneurs, and brands. We combine professional videography and photography to help businesses not just show up online, but stand out.

What makes Bella Buzz Media unique is our ability to take a brand’s vibe, energy, and story — and bring it to life visually in a way that feels both elevated and emotionally engaging. Whether it’s launching a new product, building a personal brand, or leveling up content for social media, I focus on strategy and creativity, so your content doesn’t just look good — it performs.

I started this business out of a passion for storytelling, visual aesthetics, and helping people get “buzzed” (in the best way!) about their brand through powerful visuals. Right now, I’m working with a wide range of clients — from beauty entrepreneurs to service-based businesses — helping them elevate their content with cinematic Reels, branded photos, and campaign-driven visuals that convert.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed that I had to follow a traditional path to be “successful” — go to school, get a safe job, and stick to the script. I didn’t realize that creativity could be a career, or that I could build something of my own by leaning into the things I was passionate about, like storytelling, visuals, and helping others shine.

Now, I fully believe that success doesn’t have one definition — and that building something aligned with who you are is more fulfilling than any version of success you’re “supposed” to chase. I’ve learned to trust my vision, follow my gut, and create my own lane — and that mindset shift is what ultimately led me to start BellaBuzzMedia.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was definitely a time I almost gave up — especially in the early stages of building Bella Buzz Media. I hit that phase where I was doing everything: shooting, editing, managing clients, trying to stay creative, and still doubting if it would all pay off. On top of that, I had a few experiences working with difficult clients that really tested my confidence and energy. When you’re putting your heart into your work and it’s not being respected or appreciated, it’s easy to start questioning yourself.

But what kept me going was the bigger picture. I knew I didn’t come this far to stop halfway. I reminded myself that building something meaningful takes time — and not every client is your ideal client, and that’s okay. Those tough moments taught me how to set boundaries, trust my worth, and be more intentional about who I work with.

Now, looking back, those challenges were necessary. They built the resilience that fuels my business today — and taught me that some of your biggest breakthroughs come right after the moments you almost walk away.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the content creation and social media industry tells itself is that aesthetics are everything — that if it looks pretty, it will perform. But I’ve learned that it’s not just about creating “pretty” content — it’s about creating content that has purpose. Strategy and storytelling are just as important as visuals. If you’re not connecting with your audience or communicating a message clearly, then no amount of perfect lighting or trending audio will make it convert.

Another lie is that you have to be constantly creating to stay relevant. This hustle culture mentality can burn out both creators and clients. In reality, consistent quality beats constant quantity. Sometimes your brand grows more when you slow down, realign, and post content that actually says something.

Lastly, there’s a misconception that videography and photography are just “nice to have” — when in today’s digital space, high-quality content is the face of your brand. It’s your first impression, your trust-builder, and your value translator. That’s why at BellaBuzzMedia, I focus on helping brands tell stories that not only look great but truly connect and convert.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I only had 10 years left, I’d stop overthinking and second-guessing myself. I’d stop saying “yes” to things that don’t align just because I feel obligated, and I’d stop playing small out of fear of what people might think. I think so many of us — especially creatives and business owners — get caught up in the pressure to do things the “right” way or to please everyone.

I’d spend more time doing what actually lights me up: creating with intention, working with people who inspire me, and building things that feel true to who I am. I’d also stop delaying personal joy for the sake of work — because at the end of the day, if you only had 10 years left, would you really care how “perfect” your next post looked? Or would you care how fully you lived?

That shift in mindset is something I’m already trying to apply more in both my business and life.
