We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brigitte Sinoradzki. Check out our conversation below.
Brigitte, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. When was the last time you felt true joy?
I take both my work and personal life very seriously… when my clients succeed I succeed. When my child (6) does something awesome I celebrate it. Having a sensible mix is the most important thing I can possibly think of. Getting my clients to out-rank their competitors is awesome. Having my son win “last man standing” in baseball with the kids on my block is a memory I won’t forget as he is the youngest of all of them. 🙂
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brigitte Sinoradzki, and I started Kai Branding nearly 5 years ago. Our brand is solely focused on one thing: getting our client’s stories out to the world. We are a small team of two with a fierce appetite for the success of our clients, and that shows in our 95% retention rate. We operate on month-to-month contracts only, and despite that our clients have stayed with us, many of them for years after they begin. We mainly get new clients through word-of-mouth, which has proven fruitful but hasn’t been without struggles.
Being a small business owner can be difficult at times, especially being the parent of a small child at the same time. Everyone sees the wins – like being in this article for example – but they don’t see the sleepless nights, missed holidays, and stress about paying the bills. Is it worth it, yes. Is it hard, yes. Will I give up – no – because I believe that’s why most businesses fail, they give up when the going gets tough.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
When I entered the corporate world after college, I was very shy. I had social anxiety which compounded with my (questionable for my personality) career choice of public relations and marketing. I worked with a lot of famous folks in New York and always thought of myself as less than. It took years of work on myself to realize that everyone is equal and that I had value to bring to the table.
Now that I am in a leadership role, I’d love to be able to help women who are like I was in my 20s, insecure, anxious, and fearful, and teach them that being themselves is what truly matters, as everyone has something great to contribute to the world if only they let their true light shine.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are meant for great things. Don’t worry so much about what others think. Being yourself is the greatest superpower you have, so use it to your advantage. Because turns out, you aren’t as bad as you think. 🙂
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My family and my business. In that order. My family is my absolute rock, my husband and my son make it all worthwhile. After them comes Kai Branding and our clients, all of whom I care for deeply.
Other than that comes my love for New York City. Being born and raised there, I miss it dearly and think of the city as my first true love. Manhattan is where dreams come to fruition, ambition walks the streets, and the lights shine on the success stories.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
I regret not beginning my company earlier. I think if I had 10 years under my belt instead of 5, I’d be a lot further alone at my (ripe old) age of 43. However, there are lessons I had to learn and the folks I worked with in those extra 5 years have proven invaluable to my success, so I don’t have any real regrets.
