We recently had the chance to connect with Andrea Cadelano and have shared our conversation below.
Andrea, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me starts before sunrise. I take a few quiet minutes with a cup of coffee, thinking about how far this journey has brought me, from my beginnings in Sardinia to building a life and business here in Miami. Every morning, I remind myself that Sir Clean Corp. began with one mission: to create healthier spaces where people can truly breathe and live better.
By seven o’clock, I’m already in motion. Some mornings I’m in the warehouse talking with our technicians, making sure every piece of equipment is ready before they head to job sites. Other days, I’m inspecting properties, reviewing lab results from mold assessments, or meeting clients who trust us with their homes and businesses. Every project tells its own story. One day, it’s a family recovering from water damage, the next it’s a clinic that needs a sterile, safe environment. My days are long, but I love what I do, because it’s not just about cleaning; it’s about restoring peace of mind.
In between, I always dedicate time to my nonprofits. Victor Water for Life continues to build wells and bring clean water to villages in Kenya, while The Inventions Factory, my newest initiative, focuses on inspiring young minds to create, innovate, and believe in their ideas. We teach kids that invention starts with curiosity and compassion, the same principles that built my company.
So my “normal” day is never really normal; it’s a blend of science, service, and creativity. From managing containment zones to mentoring students or planning our next humanitarian project, each moment reminds me why I started: to make the world a little cleaner, a little safer, and hopefully, a little better. And when I finally sit down at night with my wife, Anna Sofia, I feel grateful, because every day, in some way, we’re building something that lasts.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Andrea Cadelano, and I’m the founder of Sir Clean Corp., a Miami-based company specializing in mold remediation, water damage restoration, and professional janitorial services. What makes Sir Clean unique is that it was built with both science and heart. We combine certified environmental restoration expertise with genuine care for people — because behind every project, there’s a story, a family, or a business trying to recover peace of mind.
I started Sir Clean after realizing how deeply indoor air quality affects people’s lives. Over the years, we’ve become known for our precision, ethics, and passion for doing things right, from strict containment and HEPA filtration protocols to our eco-friendly, non-toxic products. Every job is personal to us. Whether it’s a school, a medical office, or someone’s home, we treat every space as if it were our own.
But my work doesn’t stop with Sir Clean. I’m also the founder of Victor Water for Life, a nonprofit that builds water wells in Kenya and leads local environmental cleanups here in Miami through our Blue Ocean Cleanup initiative. Recently, I launched The Inventions Factory, a new nonprofit focused on inspiring young minds to create, invent, and solve real-world problems. It’s about teaching kids that innovation starts with empathy, that every great idea begins with the desire to make life better for others.
What makes my journey special is that it’s a mix of entrepreneurship, community, and purpose. I came to Miami with a dream and no guarantees, just a belief that hard work and integrity could build something meaningful. Today, I’m proud that our story isn’t just about cleaning spaces, but about restoring lives, creating opportunities, and inspiring the next generation to dream big.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I used to believe that success was something reserved for a few special people, the ones born in the right place, with the right connections, or the right opportunities. Growing up, I admired those who seemed destined for great things and thought maybe I wasn’t one of them.
Life proved me wrong. When I came to the United States, I had to start from zero, no shortcuts, no safety nets, just determination. Over time, I realized that success isn’t about luck or privilege; it’s about resilience, discipline, and heart. Every obstacle became a teacher, every failure a lesson.
Now I believe something completely different: that anyone, no matter where they start, can build something meaningful if they have courage, compassion, and a clear purpose. That belief shaped everything I do, from founding Sir Clean Corp., to building water wells through Victor Water for Life, to inspiring young inventors through The Inventions Factory.
So today, I no longer see success as something that belongs to others, I see it as something we can create when we choose to serve, to innovate, and to never give up on ourselves.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up.
It was during the COVID crisis, right after a difficult crime scene cleanup and decontamination. I remember finishing the job late at night, sitting in the van, completely exhausted. The city was silent, streets empty, and everywhere you could feel the fear and uncertainty in the air.
That night, I started questioning everything: my priorities, my purpose, and what truly mattered most. I had seen so many people desperate and broken, families scared for their lives, and I realized how fragile everything can be. But instead of losing faith, something inside me shifted.
I began to help more people, even when they couldn’t afford it, cleaning churches, supporting small businesses, and comforting families who didn’t know what to do next. The more I helped, the stronger I became. It stopped being about survival or money; it became about compassion, humanity, and love.
That moment changed me forever. It gave a new meaning to Sir Clean, inspired me to expand Victor Water for Life, and led to The Inventions Factory, because I learned that when you give from the heart, you never run out of strength.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in my industry is that mold remediation or cleaning is just about appearance. Many companies focus only on making things “look clean,” but they ignore what’s happening behind the walls, inside the vents, or in the air people breathe. They sell quick fixes instead of real solutions.
Another lie is that speed is more important than quality. In this field, rushing the process can cause more harm than good. True remediation takes time, setting up containment, using HEPA filtration, following strict safety standards, and ensuring proper clearance testing. Too many companies cut corners to make a profit, and that’s what damages the reputation of our entire industry.
But the biggest lie of all might be that “it’s just business.” I completely disagree with that. For me, this work is personal. When we walk into someone’s home after a flood, or a school with air quality issues, we’re not just dealing with walls and floors, we’re helping protect people’s health, their peace of mind, their memories.
At Sir Clean, we don’t chase shortcuts or fake results. We believe in doing things right, even if it takes longer or costs more, because trust and integrity last longer than any contract. Our goal isn’t just to clean spaces, it’s to restore safety and dignity to the people who live and work in them.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had only ten years left, I would not stop doing anything. I would actually accelerate everything.
I have always lived as if this could be my last year, but not in a sad way. I live with awareness, trying to give my best each day and create something that will last beyond me. My goal has never been just to live longer, but to leave more behind, to make life easier, cleaner, and happier for those who come after.
If I had the guarantee of ten more years, I would see it as a blessing. I would move even faster on all my dreams, growing Sir Clean, expanding Victor Water for Life to bring water to more villages, and developing The Inventions Factory to reach more children and inspire their creativity.
I would not slow down. I would live with even more intention, love, and energy. For me, life is not about counting the years; it is about filling them with purpose, compassion, and legacy.
