An Inspired Chat with Amanda Paez of Hallandale

We recently had the chance to connect with Amanda Paez and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I find joy in slow mornings, spending time at the beach, yoga for movement, cooking with friends, and exploring wellness. I’m always up to try new things.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Amanda, an educator and founder of Teach Inspire Transform a tutoring company that helps kids build confidence through personalized, engaging learning. Reaching international students in Bolivia and Thailand. Beyond academics, I’m passionate about living well—think beach days and exploring new places. Right now, I’m focused on growing our impact and creating resources that make learning fun and accessible for every child.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe the answer is trust. When trust is broken, it creates a distance that’s hard to ignore. But when it’s rebuilt—even slowly—it becomes the bridge back to connection. It takes honesty, consistency, and the willingness to show up. At the heart of every choice is trust.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me something success never could, that no matter how hard things get, you can only go up from here. It’s a reminder that growth often comes through challenges. Success feels good, but it’s the struggle that builds resilience and real perspective.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the tutoring industry is that one-size-fits-all approaches work for every child. At Teach Inspire Transform, we know every student learns differently, and true progress comes from personalized, engaging methods tailored to each child’s unique strengths and challenges. Another misconception is that tutoring is just about academics—it’s really about building confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: How do you know when you’re out of your depth?
I know I’m out of my depth when I start to feel overwhelmed, second-guess, or lose that sense of clarity and confidence. It’s that moment when I realize I’m pushing instead of flowing, or when I stop learning and start spiraling. But instead of seeing it as failure, I try to see it as a signal—it’s time to pause, ask for help, or shift directions. That awareness has taught me to trust myself more, not less.
