An Inspired Chat with Aden Messier of Manhattan NY

We recently had the chance to connect with Aden Messier and have shared our conversation below.

Aden, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m chasing a dream that’s been with me for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was captivated by storytelling—the way a story could pull you into another world, make you feel something so deeply that it stays with you long after it ends. That obsession grew into acting, my way of breathing life into those stories and giving them a heartbeat.

For me, there is no question of stopping. Art isn’t just something I practice—it’s the language I live in, the rhythm of who I am. Without storytelling, without art, I wouldn’t recognize myself. It’s what grounds me, what drives me, and what keeps me chasing—not for the sake of the chase, but because it’s the truest expression of my soul.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Aden Messier. I’m an actor and content creator, but overall I’ve always been a storyteller. Growing up, I was fascinated by the way stories could move people, and that passion is what led me to acting. Before acting, I was a professional dancer, but after a knee injury and surgery, I shifted my focus to acting—and it’s been the most rewarding path I could have imagined.

Today, my work is built around authenticity, creativity, and connection. I love creating work that resonates, whether it’s through a role, a project, or even a short video. Right now, I’m focused on building my acting career while continuing to expand the ways I share stories, hoping to inspire people to embrace their own unique journeys along the way.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to live up to society’s expectations—that success meant following a very specific path and fitting into certain roles. I thought that if I didn’t check all those boxes, I wouldn’t be seen as enough. Over time, I realized that those expectations don’t define my value. I no longer feel the need to measure myself against a standard that was never truly mine to begin with. Now, I focus on creating my own definition of success, one that’s authentic to who I am rather than who I was told to be.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience and perspective in a way success never could. Success can feel validating, but it often doesn’t challenge you to look inward. Suffering, on the other hand, strips away illusions—it forces you to confront yourself, your limits, and what truly matters. It taught me empathy, patience, and the ability to keep moving even when things don’t go as planned. Those lessons stay with you much longer than any moment of recognition or achievement.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
A truth that’s really foundational for me is how much relationships shape who I am. The connections I have with people—the trust, the love, even the challenges—those are the things that have taught me the most about life. And that extends to my relationship with God. That relationship has given me a sense of trust and grounding, especially in times when I felt lost or unsure of what’s next. Knowing I can lean on that, that I don’t have to carry everything alone, has been one of the biggest sources of strength in my life.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope to leave behind art that truly resonates—something people can return to when they need a laugh, a cry, or simply to feel a little less alone. For me, that’s the power of storytelling: creating work that outlives you and continues to connect people across time. And beyond the art itself, I hope to be remembered as a creative who carried joy into everything I did—someone who showed that happiness and hope can be just as impactful as achievement. If my legacy can be a reminder that creativity and light are worth holding onto, then I’ll have done what I set out to do.
