Allyson Sullivan of Downtown Delray on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Allyson Sullivan shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Allyson, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I’ve become such a morning person that I actually go to bed excited to wake up and enjoy another morning. The first 90 minutes of my day are my absolute favorite.

I wake up naturally, without an alarm, usually between 5:15 and 5:30. The first thing I do is take my dogs for a walk. My street runs east–west toward the beach, so I head east, catching those first golden glimpses of the sun peeking over the horizon.

Some mornings, when I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll run the little over a mile from my front door to the beach just to greet the sun. I’ll pause, take a couple of deep breaths of salty ocean air, then turn and run back.

Other days, I enjoy a slower start—savoring my coffee while setting my intentions for the day. I review my calendar, make my plan, and then brace myself for the next task: waking up my teenager for school. It’s not the most peaceful part of my morning, but I remind myself that one day I’ll miss these moments.

After coffee, I head to the gym. I’m obsessed with CrossFit-style workouts and try to make it to class five or six days a week. I love the daily challenge and pushing my body to do things that once intimidated me.

Once the workout’s done, I take a quick shower, grab breakfast, get dressed, and head out the door ready to take on the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi—I’m Allyson Sullivan, your trusted partner for real estate the Delray Beach area. With over 2 decades of experience as a Downtown Delray Realtor. I have earned my spot on the map as one of Delrays’ top agents. I love selling a mix of townhomes and condos, new construction single family, or historic homes! I have a special place in my heart for the “old Delray” historic properties and celebrate the character that sets them apart.

I’m passionate about honoring the past, and I bring that same attention to detail to how I serve my clients. It’s never just about listings—it’s about results. I believe that when you list it right and market it right, trust leads to full-price offers. That’s the kind of service I strive to deliver every day. And yes—I’ll share a glimpse of the charm, lifestyle, and local favorites in Delray Beach along the way.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
I learned so many life lessons in my childhood, but I owe most of my lessons to summer camp! I grew up going to summer camp in the 1980s. I was told ghost stories, that terrified me, but I learned to be tough and still stay sleeping in a tent in the woods, and suck it up! The suck it up mentality applied to athletics too. I was never really much of an athlete, but camp pushed me to participate and do my best regardless of the outcome. I think that “suck it up” mentality is something that alot of people lack.. Camp pushed me mentally and physically, and taught me to always give everything in life my best shot! Take risks, and reap rewards… these lessons have gotten me pretty far in life, and for that I am grateful

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Just keep swimming! Like the great “dory” in “finding nemo” once said… DOing the right thing always prevails, so just be a good person! Do the right thing, let karma be your guide.. workout, eat healthy, and just keep on swimming, and every little thing will be alrgiht!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
So I am one of the most authentic AF people you will ever meet.. I sugar coat nothing. I am the “blunt” tell it “like it is” friend. I love to have fun and I have a wild side, but I am also the friend that will make sure you get home safely, after a few drinks!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
OK, So as a top Realtor, I am on call 24/7.. I work 7 days a week, and never “really” am “out of office”.. that being said, I make sure to be there for my family.. I love cooking dinner at home, I love the routine I have with my son, waking him up for school and making sure he does his school work.. I will also never regret being consistent in the gym and dedicating my mornings to my fitness regimen. Feeling good mentally and physically is so important to me. Lastly, I will never regret taking a trip.. I just recently in my mid 40s started traveling more and seeing the world. Wow, my only regret is that I didn’t start traveling sooner!
