Alexia Ciancio’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alexia Ciancio. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Alexia, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, sourdough breadmaking has become one of my greatest sources of joy. It’s so much more than baking, it’s a ritual. Each morning, before the rest of the house wakes up and while the sun is just starting to rise, I find a sense of peace in the simple act of feeding my sourdough starter and sliding a fresh loaf into the oven.

There’s something incredibly grounding about the process. It forces you to slow down and focus on one step at a time. No multitasking, no distractions, just presence. Not to mention, it fills my home with the most amazing smell and reminds me that nourishment, whether physical or creative, often comes from the things we tend to with care and consistency.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I began my professional career in the luxury goods industry, working with iconic brands such as LVMH, Cartier, and Chopard. Those years taught me the importance of storytelling, precision, and building meaningful relationships with clients.

In 2020, I decided to venture out on my own and founded Jade Marketing, a boutique digital marketing agency based in Miami. My goal was to use my experience to make a direct impact on small and medium-sized businesses by helping them grow and thrive through strategic marketing. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of working across a variety of industries—including restaurants, wellness, therapy, medical practices, and real estate, bringing creativity, strategy, and measurable results to each.

What truly makes Jade Marketing special is our approach to relationships. Our clients don’t just stay “clients” for long. They become part of our Jade family. We care deeply about every project we take on, and that passion shows in the results we deliver.

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to be planning our second annual Marketing Conference, taking place in Miami in October 2026. Our first conference, held in March 2025 at Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus, was a huge success, and we can’t wait to make next year’s event even bigger and more impactful.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One of the most pivotal moments in my life was studying abroad in Madrid, Spain during my junior year of college. I lived there for six months, and those months completely changed the way I see the world and myself.

Being immersed in a new culture, speaking another language, and navigating life outside of my comfort zone pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect. It was the first time I truly understood how expansive the world is, and how valuable it is to step into different perspectives, and ways of living.

But more than anything, that experience taught me about me. My resilience, my ability to adapt, and my strength in overcoming challenges. I came back more confident, more open, and with a deeper understanding of who I am and what I’m capable of. That time in Madrid will always be a core part of my journey, both personally and professionally.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. More than once, to be honest. Being a business owner is incredibly rewarding, but it’s also one of the hardest journeys I’ve ever chosen. When you build something from the ground up, your business becomes deeply personal. You pour your time, energy, creativity, and heart into it, and with that comes a weight of responsibility that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

There have been moments when the stress, the uncertainty, or the setbacks made me question if I could keep going. But I’ve learned that those are the moments when you need to pause, take a deep breath, and reconnect with your “why.”

Sometimes all it takes is a step back to remember how far you’ve come and to recognize the progress you’ve made, because we often get so caught up in chasing what’s next that we forget to honor how much we’ve already accomplished.

The truth is, struggle and self-doubt are part of the process. But so is resilience, growth, and the deeply fulfilling sense of knowing you’ve built something meaningful. I’ve never regretted sticking it out.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
As a Latina, one of the cultural values I protect at all costs is family. Not just in the traditional sense, but in the way we show up for each other, celebrate each other, and lift each other up. In my personal life and in my business, I carry that same spirit of warmth, connection, and loyalty that’s so deeply rooted in Latin culture.

In our community, family isn’t just blood, it’s who you choose to pour into. That’s something I’ve brought into Jade Marketing from day one. Whether it’s my team, my clients, or our collaborators, I treat relationships with the same heart and integrity I would with my own family. That’s how I was raised and it’s something I’ll never compromise on.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. While external praise is always appreciated, I’ve learned that the most powerful form of validation is the one that comes from within. I truly believe that self-fulfillment and knowing you gave something your all, regardless of applause, is the most rewarding feeling.

As a business owner, there are countless moments behind the scenes that no one sees, acknowledges, or celebrates. But I show up fully every time because I know why I started. That quiet confidence, that internal pride, is what fuels me. I don’t need a spotlight to know I’ve done something meaningful. I just need to feel it in my gut.
